NL box where we host our redirect files so that players can download files (maps, pk3's, etc) high speed seems down. I have created ticket with hosting company to look into it. I will keep you guys posted.

Hi, Alan! Well, we also want it. We work to keep a nice ambient on our servers, and we use to warn/mute people who disrespect others repeatedly. We use to allow a single swear or complaint, if is not offensive, since everybody swears sometimes when things don't happen like one wants to. You know, everyone sometimes needs to drop a swear. And there are many kind of different people who met in the servers. We can not control them all, or educate them all. But there is also people who just wihin and complaint all time, as the main meaning of their game session, thinking they are much better than the others, so they are legitimated to disrespect others. They are totally wrong and ridiculous. Many players even directly insult to anyone who kills them. I think that is totally unfair and i don't like these kind of persons. Never liked them. Back in my school days, i've seen it a lot, in real life, and i've always been the guy who defends instead the one who insults/mistreats. That's why i take these attitudes seriously. So... If you ever get insulted by any player, let admins know that you felt offended, by telling us by Private Message. You can do that by opening the console (º key, left of the number 1 key, under the Esc key) and write a private message to admins typing this: /m F|A Hi, [player name] is insulting me and i dont want him to keep doing that. Or something like that. If you feel it is much difficult for you to use this way, you can also tell us using the game main chat (default key is T). But i recommend you to use the private chat, so we can act better and more efficiently against them. As a personnal tip, i recommend you to keep that way of thinking about respecting others, keep that acting on servers and you will also be respected, at least by the people who is worth it. The other assholes can keep being ignored (because that's mostly what the insulters get, apart of mutes). You will find there are mostly very nice, educated and intelligent people on ET, but only a few assholes. Greetz, AcK

I'll be happy to (or if not me, I'm sure someone else will) set low custom gravity tomorrow for a map so we can do this. This is something we'd do during a gameday though because it can get some people aggravated who are playing the map, as well as aggravate those trying to make the human tower

I have one crazy idea.. which would help community back. I will open both side money challenge - which grp pays the most - we have the settings for few weeks or month or so. Donation goes to server funds. I can open donation goal - Keep poison knife on Jay1 and another remove poison knife on Jay1. At the end both money goes to 2018 goal. Let me know what u guys think.

Here on ET i got too much troubles and i see too much people blaming, complaining and not respecting people, for me the solution is to stop doing that and play fair & not to blame or whatever bad thing, just play & not to talk bad to people, if they still not respecting people i want an admin to mute them and play, or a warning for that, anyway just i want a game of not to fight or whatever bad things to say, just we want a nice talk & a nice fun game, not a bad & not respecting game.

@daredevil Fixed it. Problem was that the constructing trigger for lab reinforcements weren't hidden at start of map. Changed it so that it is hidden at beginning and comes available after labdoor has been destroyed. U can still destroy the innerside of lab with axis dyna but doesn't affect gameplay since glitch won't work anymore. Thank you @Mordecai for making a topic about it. why not just remove it from field ops class? would be an acceptable limit. the main problem is jay3. you should play a match when the players "knifing, cyborg, knife, gundalf, DrSpreadem.." and other kamikaze suicide knifers are online at the same time then you might think different. its no problem getting killed by poison at all. its a problem when people change the gameplay completely by hiding behind your spawn or anything and commit kamikaze for a lousy poison knife kill and you waste more time on respawning than on playing. so too many knife spammers kill fun. there a vote for knifes off for a few rounds would be also a good solution. another option is to remove it from jay3 and keep it on jay1. and once again: its all about poison not about knifes. you could still use the needle 😷

Let's not go around suggesting major system updates such as Windows 10 builds, especially with problems such as this one that could cause corruption during the installation. Updating/reinstalling drivers is a good first start, and can fix many issues but it's always a good idea to find out exactly which driver is the culprit. That's why I suggest running LatencyMon. Also, please don't hijack topics. This topic is related to Wicx's issue, so let's stick to that. I suggest manually copying our files for now. Will change that in future. Might update our pk3 cleaner soon so players who wish to play from ETLegacy can play without any issue.

I guess here, I am to blame for tilde and extended ASCII characters. Back in the days, few clans have massive broken pk3 menu with tons of error in console and they used to use bunch of zzzz... That messed up pk3's and shit load of errors, used to piss me of to no extend. So I started using ~ which started back in 2008. I started with one tild and eventually same clam owners copy pasted and went up back to 52. Same thing and history repeated itself with extended ASCII. I am glad you guys are blocking it. But I foresee clans will be back to old basics of zzz. We took similar approach in silEnT mod and restricted from starting server with those pk3. But eventually, some owners bypassed it and I had filed DMCA report against them with their hoster and was able to convince 2 clan owners. The one major issue I see is silEnT mod is not opensource so we where able to restrict it but with ETLegacy being open source due to GPL license, I believe matter of time someone bypasses it and starts distributing parallel download. So if their is any new approach to fix that, I would gladly appreciate it. This things need some elegant approach to fix it permanently so "all ET players" can benefit but before doing that please keep 2 spare master list in ETLegacy files so that if in future ETLegacy development slows down, rather then transferring domain it also queries another master list. This way we will not hit case where master list is down and no one gets to see any online server. If schnoo from SL is ok to maintain another domain, I would suggest giving him another master list domain. He is fair enough person. To the other part - admins can make players download malicious file even with z_name pk3 or just map name pk3. Their is no stopping it unless some crazy checks are added in code itself to control all pk3's to make sure no exe and servers running custom AC like us needs to get whitelisting done but then upon update of AC you need to add new checks without updating ETLegacy builds. That's why I have always suggested players to play on servers where they trust admin owners or else it would become nightmare for them. From trojans, virus, password stealing of their bank accounts, etc anything could happen and has happened in past to those cheat users when cheat coders kept loop hole in their code to get more benefit out of the clients. That's another discussion altogether though. The one thing ETLegacy needs by default is support of subnet bans with wildcard support and that would benefit all mods except silent as silent as inbuilt subnet ban support. Some nice perks/addons over custom ETDED.exe would entice server owners to switch to ETLegacy server builds faster. I am just glad you are keep up fixing issues in ET to keep it alive, so kudos for that. Thank you
