News Teamspeak 3 - Closing - Replacement - Discord

I have decided to shutdown teamspeak for time being since we all use Discord. It doesn't make sense to monitor 2 things which serves same purpose. I will always keep files for it in my back ups if Discord decides to go Xfire route. 

 

Since last year we all have been using Discord. It has iOS and Android app as well. It's much easier to keep in touch with Discord.

Every member, admin, staff, etc should be on discord by now. If not please download and install it and update your Discord ID in your profile. I hope to see you all on Discord. I can guarantee you that once you start using Discord - you will forget Vent, Teamspeak, etc. It's much easier with iOS and Android apps.

Goodbye, TeamSpeak...I hope that Discord Voice brings as much fun to its FA-Users as you did. 

 

That was fun to hear schNee giggle during her time as a Game Host on a Game Day.  

 

ADDED:  I posted the line above to the General-chat on Discord and also added memories of RedAngel's laughter and Tipsy's microphone kludge.   I had to add regrets that I had not heard the voices of Audrey nor SisJe. 

 

( Why am I so concerned about not hearing the "girl's" voices?  )

Good memories on Teamspeak... we shall miss you. From talking to Sis and Satanek before they were members, raging about ET- and thoughtful conversations with D..X- to late night War Thunder games with GI-Joe, Maky, and Anninub... I shall shed a single tear in remembrance of those good times.

May Discord serve us well, and I look forward to chatting with you soon.

Finally! Even though I've been using TS for much longer time and I still use it occasionally, I think Discord is much better alternative for a community like FA. I realize it's a bit more complex, but if you learn to use all its features, you'll be happy that you can stay on the channel with so many great people. Install Discord now if you haven't or just join FA channel through browser to see how it works.

I was looking for something in the FA.pk3s in Silent mod and found a line in one that says "loadMenu { "ui/fa_discord.menu" }".  I have not connected to ET to check it yet.

A discord menu is present upon pressing escape ingame and it opens a tab and invites you to the clans discord server when you click on it. So it works. 

 

Teamspeak is stil being advertised on the server though. Hardcore anyway.

Not all menus got updated yet but slowly getting there. Silents were the priority.
