Let's hope than the US citizens didn't take such charts and whatnot seriously as well and had the same critical minds than us here before voting. :D

Apparently, US citizens don't take many things seriously, it seems

Well.. apparently the reason of Trump's win was the will for a "changement"\a vote against H.Clinton and not Trump's program\speech.. Even though the result is the same, this is 2 different reasons.. To me the 1st is too light to justify such a vote (and there I'm talking about voting for such a personality not about any party) but the 2nd is way more serious.

I think every Presidential election, people are hoping for change and dwelling on the tern hope and change is just using keywords to try and get people more emotionally excited about their candidate, but even people who voted for Hillary or Johnson/Stein had change in mind

Well I'll throw in my 2 cents.

My family and I were shell shocked Wednesday morning.

I understand a large portion of the reason people voted for the Cheeto:

1) They are sick and tired of being ignored. They are losing jobs, family and hope, and they're willing to risk it all for a man who promises to change that.
2) They care passionately about something like abortion, and for them, the supreme court trumps everything else (pun intended)
3) They're sick and damn tired of being called racists and bigots for expressing how they feel. My parents fall into this category, as they do not approve of same sex marriage.
4) (A few vocal people) Are genuinely racist, misogynist assholes, and love that a man who appears to share their feelings could be president.

The first three are understandable, but I cannot excuse or forgive them regardless. My family, as most of you know, are Hispanic. My wife, although born in Chicago, was raised in Mexico. My two older daughters were repeatedly assaulted by their cousin when they were younger. So you see, when my fellow Americans elevated a man who repeatedly spews racist vitriol, and who has committed sexual assault countless times, it feels like a slap in the face.

My next door neighbor flies a Trump flag, and has for several months. He has been openly hostile to all of us, even my younger kids. My second oldest daughter has endured taunts at school about getting deported.

All of this is bad enough, and we haven't even touched on his basic unfitness - this is a man who never reads, and who has the attention span of a 5 year old. I suspect he will delegate much of the actual work of the presidency to his VP, but he still will have great power. Yes, Russia is happy. Yes, Russia says they want peace.

So did Germany in 1938.

For better or worse, America has served as the backbone of a world order that emphasized liberal democracy and a certain standard of behavior. We certainly haven't always lived up to our professed ideals, but we have been there when it counted. Trump seems determined to cede that ground, to retreat behind our borders, confident that the two great oceans around us will protect us. This echoes strongly of the early thirties in this country, when our Congress passed the Neutrality Act. Millions would later pay the price for that retrenchment.

I had my serious reservations about Hillary. She is always dancing on the razor edge of corruption. But there was never any doubt in my mind she was the most qualified candidate we have had in recent memory. She's whip smart, experienced, and would have been a stabilizing influence. She was perhaps too eager to go to war, but I had no doubt she had the balls to call Putin out on his bullshit aggression.

I'll close with what I have posted on my facebook:

Yes, Trump is my president. Yes, I hope and pray he succeeds, for as goes Trump, so go we all.

No, I will not forget the things he has said, and the things he has done. I will fight with every tool at my disposal to protect the most vulnerable of our citizens, and will set an example for my children of how to disagree without being disagreeable, whenever possible. As Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that."

well..I revisit this...Trump's progress so far..really really awful cabinet pics so far... taxpayers pay to secure Trump's NYC preferred residence...his family members attend meetings with leaders from other countries..massive conflicts of interest..lying he saved jobs at Ford ....hate crimes up sharply at schools and elsewhere..Trump saying "stop it" to scold his hateful followers(children).. enough? I think not....I have probably missed something..oh.. yes Trump just settled out of court for 25 million.. scam school...ahem..Trump University..

As parrot pointed out, everyone hopes he does well....for the sake of the people. Unfortunately some countries however, are preparing for the worse.
