  2. 2. If the ADRENALINE mechanic is the JAYMOD code is updated to include new options it would be better if: (Select as many options that you would prefer over the current mechanic)

    • adrenaline only increases stamina (sprint) duration and does not provide damage reduction
    • adrenaline damage reduction does not apply to headshots
    • adrenaline is only available to engineers
    • adrenaline makes the user significantly less accurate when shooting
    • adrenaline only defers damage, when the effect expires, the user receives the balance of the damage
    • adrenaline damage reduction is reduced from 50% to something less like 25%
    • the adrenaline mechanic should not be changed
    • other (please comment below with your specific suggestion)

I'm just looking at the pole and kind of breaking it down.

 

13% of players don't play because of adren

27.5% because not enough players

14.49% because of too many omni's.

 

Removing adren or overhauling the mechanic so their damage isn't reduced could help greatly.

 

The 13% would play there because no adren, which would lead to more players for the 27.5% that want more players, which would lead to less omni's for the 14.49% that think their are too many.  Kind of killing 3 birds with one stone.

WARNING! I didn't read full topic.

 

 

My opinion about adrenaline by Siwex89.

 

One day friend from my past dead clan told me about clan that is so great that I will fall in love in first sight.

He said that it's totally adrenaline free, you can be rambo medic and no one will do shit about it.

I didn't even think this through and said to him " stfu where IP? ".

After few first minutes I was delighted how great FA servers are and that was about 7 years ago and I'm still here.

But If I had to change something about adrenaline it would be this :

 

option 0 . leave it as it is. dot dot ( imo best one )

 

option 1. give adrenaline to all classes except medic but with no extra benefits  to all classes (no extra damage / less damage taken when you are on adre ) adre is just extra stamina period

 

option 2. give adrenaline to all classes with full benefits  etc but medic can't heal himself, he can only heal other players !!!!

The thing about giving adre only to other classes... I feel like in the end it will be mostly medics, flamers, and covert ops that use adren. Riflenade and Panzer need their charge to use their weapon, engi and fops need their charge for their abilities (repair/dynamite and arty/airstrike). So if you look at who is using adre the most right now it will probably be mostly medics, flamers, and covi. You can choose to remove adre from medic, it will have one of the following effects:

1. some medics will change to Engi but don't play obj because they never have charge

2. you essentially remove adre from the server because only flamer and covi will use it.

 

I don't really mind it but realistically speaking the option to only remove adre from Medics comes very close to the option to remove adren altogether

How can a medic heal other players if he's dead?

What I meant is that he can't use his own modpacks to heal his own injury, only other medic can do that

Keep checking jay2 and always dead now so no point joining server, I dont play much on there now, its turned into a frag server, no objective players, well maybe 1 or 2 but thats it, just adren meds who do nothing but get frags to look good

Tried playing engi on there but, almost impossible to do obj cos of some junkie meds running around getting their frags lookin good, yeah awesome dude your great, engis cant use  adren cos that would make their abilities useless until recharge

Theres a 3 map rule on jay1 for panzer, maybe a 2 map rule for meds could work, but then again after 2 maps they would probably disconnect and come back later to be rambos again

Server is lost, sad but true, ruined by 1 class players who have never tried playing anything else but john ******* rambo

If you get a couple of good shots on a rambo (hs) its kinda funny watching them bunny hop into the distance healing their little wounds, always makes me laugh anyway

Its always going to be an adren server and thats that, so if you fancy 2v2 or 3v3 then jay2 is the place for you

When I started playing, it used to be quite busy and was really fun, but in the 18mths its turned to dust

Why is it that this server in particular has been affected, if you're saying that rambo medics have ruined jay2, then why is jay1 still going strong. On beg2 there is adrenaline, and rambo medics, yet still popular?

Jay2 has to compete with jay 1 as silent has to compete with HC, the better server wins with the dwindling player count and the servers having too many slots to begin with.

 

I agree perfectly with iomen, jay 2 is nothing but only a few players left that run around waiting to see someone then shooting up adren.  It used to be an objective server where people just relaxed, did obj, and shot some bots, but the adren whores have completely ruined it so players either quit or changed servers.

 

With jay1 and silent having so many slots, theres no point to play any other US server with sub par settings.

 

Remove adren, limit jay1 to like 46 slots and not only will you not have so much trouble with maps being unplayable on jay1, but you'll have a steady stream of players on jay2, as long as it closely mimics jay1's settings.

No adren on jay1, jay3 is a different server altogether, you just cant compare jay3 with 2 they are 2 totally different servers in every way

Jay 3 is a fast paced fast shooting server so it really makes sense there.  If everyone can use adren and the recharge time is fast so you can almost constantly be on it, it's actually a lot of fun.  Just a sped up ET that forces you to track more.

 

I still stand behind what I said for another reason I forgot to add.  It's about time, besides that little steam boost, that we start focusing on the players that are still around instead of worrying about new ones.  95% of players that are still around are the hardcore ET fans that have been around for years and we should focus on tending to them and making the servers more fun for them.

 

I'm a huge fan of slightly limiting the slots on jay1 for two reasons.  One being it's very hard to find maps that work for that server, and even if they do the choke points become  un-passable.  Second would be to basically have a jay1.2, using jay2 if needed.  Same settings just another rotation.  This gives players many more maps to play if they're tired of a certain one on a certain server. 

 

I would say somewhere around 20v20 max allowed slots on jay1 (on teams) with quite a bit more for people to spectate and hang out and enjoy watching players or chatting.  So maybe slightly over 50 slots but locked to 40 players.  This would solve a lot of the game play and map issues as well, if jay1.2/jay2 is set up the same, another place to play.

 

People will always join jay1, even if you had 80 slots and the game was completely unplayable due to it being the best U.S. jaymod server, so raising the slots might seem like it's helping when it's actually hurting the gameplay.

I just left it and it was almost full. It's all about timing these days.

Most of the time, Jay teams already are about 20v20, 21v21. It would be better to go lower, 15v15 for example so that the redirect actually has a better chance to come into play and yes, it's about the few dozens of us that can't walk away from ET.

I would have voted for adrenaline, as it makes me feel young again and because it makes the first long runs to get to the battle on some maps much quicker. 🏃‍♂️ 🏃‍♀️ 🏇

 16v16 is the best server settings I've ever played on.  It was on the old school HKF server, but I think Jay1, with it's popularity and the mod itself, should still have a few more slots. 18v18 would be the absolute lowest I'd go and feel the server runs very well with those numbs but 20v20 or 21v21 at the absolute max, but that's kind of pushing the upper limit of when the player numbers start to ruin maps.

At this point, I would have to say it is definitely worth the shot. I'd hang around Jay2 if it wasn't dead all of the time. Jay2 was my favorite server when I first started playing with FA, you wouldn't ever see me on Jay1. Now I rarely join Jay2 just for a sec to check up. I'm open to trying almost anything at this point, considering paying for a server to sit empty.
