Format - 

Add Map -> Map name  + URL to download the map - if not in our download section, upload and share URL.
Remove map -> Map name

 

Can provide multiple add/remove maps in same post.

Maybe what might help Jay 2 is if it's a server that offers an alternative to the most common maps. I mean, I don't know. People are not easy to accept change or even adapt to new maps all the time so it would be tough but we've all learned new maps at some point and loved them as much as the core maps that we've all played thousands of times.

 

A good rotation of some really cool maps that don't get played as much could be the attraction to the server.....

They should bring back the chicken bucket map.  It's a pretty straight forward map, the only real obj is basically to have fun. Some people just gotta complain and can't enjoy the game...

Wiesbaden needs spawntime upped from 8s to 10, maybe 12s

This map is never seen in EVERY FA server before

Axis : Escort 2 Tank to under the Paris Eiffel Tower

Allies : Stop Axis to do it

(each tank route will have one barrier, it can be use dynamite to destroy it, but it can't rebuild it)

That's something I've been wanting to do a lot more, the problem is people see a map they don't know and just leave.

Maps like Baserace, chicken bucket, the fixed version of golden dunk etc. would go on that cycle. What are people's thought to this?

How much % does a callvote needs?

Atm your vote gets cancelled after 3 seconds.

Would indeed play Jay2 a lot more if you had that rotation.

70% of players in a team, not including bots.

So for a 5v5 you need 7 people to vote yes.

It's tough but enthusiasm goes a long way. Last night we had a full server til after 8PM Central US time. That never happens anymore but the fragging was really good, the maps were close - not won until right to the end and that had not only most of the specs playing but a lot of people that you don't see too often, like BLade, etc.

 

8PM and no bots is amazing! And who knows how long it went on. Capt was there.  He'd know. 

 

So regs figure out the best maps, people straggling in see that the game play is good and join in hopefully and it goes from there

Need @daredevil for that too.

i used to do sumthing similar to this in  elitekillas. clan we had 2 rotations  i think it was set up as two diff campaigns. one for full server and one forlower pop server.

 

we could vote on witch one to play.  so this is possible. id like too see this implemented in to jay2 also. thanks el! love the et passion . u do alot of stuff around here no one ever sees and  u should be thanked for all your support  and help.

I think the way DD has servers set up we can't callvote for campaigns, we have to use the rotations that he has set up. I think the way we would have to do it is have 2 maplist.txt files with slightly different names like

maplistmain.txt and maplistevent.txt and manually rename one of them to maplist.txt which the server reads. I was thinking DD could set up a script to automatically rename them on every Sunday to play the 'event' rotation and rename it back on every Monday to play the 'main' rotation.

Just added 2 new maps as people were asking for more on the server. They are jailbus_b2 and decrypted2_b2. I've marked all the new ones that I've added recently with a star for Phantom as he said he would be able to reorder them and it saves me the work 😄

 

 

Warmup scores are reset and will reset on the 1st of each month. This helps show when a map is getting stale and should be removed from rotations for a while. Voting matters a lot more now as it reflects what people think a monthly basis rather than having a map with +250 score forever. Big thanks to DD for doing that.

 

Make sure you vote up/down during warmups!

Also make sure to tell people to vote too I guess:)

I haven't played a lot on your servers lately becuase the same map appears to me too often.
my idea is,
take out half of the most frequently played maps and exchange them with the other half every 2 months.
that gives more variety.
In additiony you could set the player limit down a little so that all maps can be played even with a slightly lower number of players.
at least temporarily until more players appear again.
maybee you could also release a vote map for low level admins.

A lot of players here want new maps too and I've been going through the download section on these forums testing out maps and I've found a lot of good ones that I'm slowly bringing into rotations.

 

Some maps are too big to be played when the server is only at, say, 4v4, so lowering the limits makes those maps boring for the regulars and it just turns into spending more time looking for players than fighting against players.

 

I think everyone can call a vote to change maps? Esc -> vote -> map

Chateau Voilegarde - This is on my list of maps to add to Jay2.

Secret Bay Final - This is in my list to add to Jay2.

1944 Beach Final - I like this map too and will probably add it for player counts of 7v7 and above. It was on before and a few people told me they didn't like it when it was a small amount of players on the server when the map appeared so I removed it.

battle of Wolken 3 Final - I went through all the Wolken maps recently and I'm not sure which one this is but they're all pretty good and I'd like to see them on the server at some point.

Rovaniemi Farm - I'll add it to the list for 2nd phase of map testing where I get others to play through them. I do like this map though. I'll mark these maps in Blue.

Western - Will add to the list for group testing. I played it on HC when it was on there like a year ago and didn't mind it.

Haemar - I think this was on Beginners 2 and might be too big but will add for 2nd phase testing.

Raw Castle TE Final - I like this map. Will add it to the list for 2nd phase of map testing.

Leningrad - The objective of this map is a bit too vague and confusing. I wouldn't be too comfortable having it on the server but I'll add it to the group testing list and see what people think.

Bridges Final - This is far too big for Jay2. It's been on Jay1 and Beginners 2 in the past.

Millennium Falcon 2 - I recently removed this map as it was hated. It won't be back for a long time.

Castle Attack - Too big for Jay2. It's on Jay1 at the moment I think.

Flame Guards War Zone Final - Too big for Jay2, it had to be removed in the past.

Stalingrad Final - Also too big.

D-Rush - I removed this map not too long ago too cause it really wasn't liked.

MLB Hotchkiss Final - This is too big for jay2.

ET Tower - This will be in Sunday fun rotations if that goes to plan.

Purefrag Final - It's been on Jay2 before, I'll probably put it in Sunday rotations.

Decay - Is currently on Jay2.

Fuel Depot Final - We have Fuel Dump Revenge on the server right now which is a summer version and swaps teams so axis attack.

Praetoria: Mission Two - On Jay2.

 

Maps in yellow I don't really have too much to say about, they all had negative scores or people would always leave when they appeared. As I mentioned, I'm now going to be keeping track of which maps do really badly and which maps were just removed because they were on for too long and that's why they got so many negative opinions. These yellow maps don't mean that I'm dismissing them, they will be back on the server at some point.

 

Thanks for the feedback, it really is a massive help for me to hear people's opinions on the rotation. It's also a big motivator to keep on top of it 😄

Thanks for the quick processing and responding to the player! you are doing a good job and will therefore try to give you a hopefully meaningful feedback in order to bring the server forward!


Marking the maps with appropriate colors is a good idea.
This way, repeated map suggestions can be avoided.
IF there was a complete listing of all maps that can be requested on this server, it would be perfect.
for example: Minas Tirith - too big is not played on jay2
but is not the important ^^

 

What do you think of the proposal to run half of the popular maps alternately every month?
I'm talking about these maps:

Caen, Bremen, Venice, Italy, Frostbite, Adlernest, Supply Depot, Oasis, Goldrush
