I was reading about laying mines in the admin section.  Went on line and played Jay1 and used the rules about laying mines.  All were cool with it.

I was asked about rules for medics?   Great conversation and there were several admins on.

What is the rule and what is your oppion?

Thanks

There is no specific rule. But if you're a medic do your job as such and not pass along your team mates giving you health to yourself and ignoring the other to increase your stats, that's for 'maricas' :p

Medics that don't heal are the epitome of self-centered douchebaggery. So sayeth the Sid!

Now I want to play Et , mang.

Whenever I play, I do my best to give people med packs, though sometimes I can't because I'm in a firefight. Ironically enough, I often forget that I'm a medic until I see the little revive icon above somebody. xD

Oh, and I don't heal bots... I mean they never heal me. So they get to have a nice long mute instead.

:lol

Gotta love those medics who heal nobody but rage because field ops dont give ammo <3 Ah, et rambos.

It's a team game, teammates should help out by means of whatever benefits they are awarded by their class (medpacks, ammopacks, pliers, satchels, erm.. soldiers are useless).  Common sense comes into play really..

It's not something we can enforce with rules though, sometimes you genuinely don't notice someone asking for meds..

This always been a issue on pubs to a point. Also depends on ya point of view, but all in all most *Good* players that play med will heal you when they have the chance. Its usually the ppl who are somewhat newer to ET that can't heal well. Laying packs is going a bit too far imo tho lol, while he's laying you packs he could be setting up crossfire etc for ya team which is 10x more beneficial to team than packing someone. Ntm very easy to 1v2 someone when their med is packing them.

Medics who don't heal chose their gamestyle and aren't necessiraly "selfish douchebags", they may be more concentrated on other sides of the game and don't always care about their teammates, yet they are still hepful for the team, see further than the tip of your nose, a rambo medic in your team = less deaths and sometimes more kills, and even if they're selfish it's a game, everyone's free to play as they want, as long as they don't ruin others game (I'm talking about tk/tb/ or other ways to mess with the game or your teammates), and I highly doubt that a medic that didn't heal you twice or thrice a map ruined your game. You'll never be able to force someone to play as you want, and in team games like ET you can't always get help from your teammates, so if it really annoys you I'd suggest you to get as independant as possible, you must know how to play alone before knowing how to play with your teammates, even in ET, because you should rely on yourself before relying on your teammates :)

Engiz  for constructions,

Fops for ammo packs, call air/arty strikes as support

Soldiers for fire backup, clear path (panzer, mortar, flamer...)

covies to infiltrate disturb ennemy, coverin fire (sniper), disable some lil constructions quickly (satchel)

.... and

I could never understand why medics (and f-ops) always lay out just enough to top themselves off while running out of the spawn. Especially where the spawn is a good 10-20 seconds away from the normal battle areas.

An example- Allies run out of 2nd spawn on Goldrush. Usual battle is at the bridge. Does it hurt to lay out some packs for the rest of your team that are coming out? You will usually be powered back up by the time you get to the bridge.

ET stopped being about teamwork and objective play years ago when the raters hit the scene. Even with SL gone, it's all about the frags. Don't expect much to change in that mentality any time soon.

Don't give a shit, never expect to get heal on jaymod ,    on silent and hc its quite different , even without asking .. if a medic is near you will be healed.

i nearly never play on no quarter or any of the jaymod servers, but i was surprised with how little medics revive there...on hardcore/silent its way better..

Medics will all play differently. VERY FEW will never heal.

The rest, will heal when they can. Obviously when/if you get healed will depend on if they are getting shot at, how much cover they have etc..

It all depends on the players medic experience in ET/Scrim. Some guys like me take too much risk to revive and die in the process (which really doesn't help the team). More experienced players will wait for a better time to heal you. And sometimes, they just cant revive you without getting killed, so they won't take that risk. Other times, they need to heal themselves before attempting to revive.

But as Chuck and Nani have said, there really is no rule for it, or a way to enforce it. And every situation will be different. How many players need medic? Is one dead player a medic so he can help revive? How many people are shooting at them? Does the medic have a place to hide to heal if he needs it? Can the medic kill the guys shooting at him? Would it be easier to revive, then be revived? Or is it easier to kill the enemy first, then revive you?

Too many variables in the game... If you don't get revived, watch the spawn timer and tap out :)
