  1. This issue has been fixed as of the weekend. All it took was reporting it to the FCC and a few month long problem was fixed in a few days. The FCC gave them a week to fix it or face fines . I know I wasn't the only one having the issue and can confirm that myself and one other's connections are working properly now. Here's the little bit of info I do have from the other player with the issue, he was the one who reported his ISP (different from mine) to the FCC after getting the usual run-around for weeks. "It's the old lumen network that was causing issues, I assume some switches were getting over loaded. So defaulting to backup trunk lines that would only trickle packets out to stay up. This was the node that was not allowing throughput "207.50.7.0", It's located in North Carolina. It wasn't a result of the hurricane and flooding that went through there though. It was apparently hardware failure explicitly, due to too much bandwidth in use" Hopefully any other player whose routing took them through the same nodes as ours to play on U.S. FA servers no longer has issues. @daredevil
  2. Try setting your soundmegs to 24. There's been more than a few people having sound issues with recent ETLegacy updates and 24 soundmegs has seemingly fixed all of them. There's another topic or two on these forums where it was the fix, it fixed my game crashing issue (24 was the only value that fixed it, tried a few), and it also just fixed my buddies issue that he described as "getting random sound hitching in game for some reason". 1-Add seta com_soundmegs "24" to your config. 2-Modify the ETL target path. This will get rid of "latched" issues. Remember to check in game after - Open console, type /com_soundmegs, hit enter. - Make a shortcut for etl.exe - Right click on the shortcut and go to "properties" - Modify the "Target:" to read: "C:\Program Files (x86)\ETLegacy\etl.exe" +set com_soundmegs 24 (just add the +set com_soundmegs 24 to the end of whatever path is there) - Always use that shortcut to open game Highlighted in blue You can also use this to fix any latching issues with other cvars such as hunkmegs or zonemegs. Here's my full path just as an example: "C:\Program Files (x86)\ETLegacy\etl.exe" +set com_zonemegs 64 +set com_hunkmegs 768 +set com_soundmegs 24 +set fs_game jaymod +exec window.cfg +exec binds.cfg Hope this one works!
  3. I've been having a connection issue every single night since I started playing again a little over a month ago. This issue is 7 days a week starting between 19:00-21:00 EST and ending between midnight-02:30. These just happen to be the exact hours I like to play, or would be playing I should say, because currently it is pointless. I'd really appreciate some help with this. Here's some ss's of my lagometer to show what it's doing to ET and some trace's to Jay1, Jay2, and Silent1.
  4. I had this issue years ago and have no memory on how I fixed it. I do remember how badly it would piss me off though so I can atleast sympathize and I'm sorry you're going through this, truly, from the bottom of my heart. One sound related issue I did run into with the newest ETLegacy release is having the game crash upon starting and trying to connect to a server. I was temporarily dealing with it at first by just deleting the Legacy Mod directory after I got done playing (I don't even play that mod to begin with). The fix ended up being to set my com_soundmegs to 24. Every other value I tested would cause the problem. If you do adjust the soundmegs as recommended by the lovely @Drempa , make sure once you're in the selected mod or on the server to open the console and -> /com_soundmegs and press enter -> to make sure the new value didn't end up latched.
  5. Not 100% on the whole issue but if it's directing you to a place to manually download needed files, try starting the game, opening the console, and typing the command /cl_allowdownload 1 so that the game will automatically download them when you connect to a server.
  6. Open game, do not exec config, open console and type /name stalker, and /cg_selectedplayername stalker. Go to the menu and double click on and load silent mod, do not exec config, open console and type /name stalker, and /cg_selectedplayername stalker. Still in the console and in silent mod type /name and hit enter, check what it says, then type /cg_selectedplayername and hit enter, check what it says. They should both say "stalker" at this point, confirm this. Now connect to FA hardcore or Beginners 2 and see what happens. After you connect, or if you can't connect, again check both /cg_name (hit enter) and /cg_selectedplayername (enter) and confirm the names. If this works, do this with any mod you're having trouble with. If this issue continues, let one of us onto your PC with teamviewer or something! Going through your ET directory and manually doing this is easier done than said.
  7. @HarryAimpotter Thanks man
  8. What video editors is everyone using? @qrzy @SSJ Maro @HarryAimpotter Looking for something free that doesn't use a giant water mark (like the time someone talked me into using filmora and I didn't know it was watermarked until I compiled the final video -.-) and preferably not a cracked editor either. I've gone the full mile in the past with configs, cl_avidemo, vdub, cracked vegas, but I'm wayyyy too lazy and don't care enough to do that anymore. Want to simply grab clips w/ OBS on my stream config, cut/trim/and link a few together, compile and be done with it, no music or anything.
  9. Cleaning out my demo install and came across this. Sorry not sorry teammate panzer.
  10. You won't run into any issues with heat. I've never seen any heat problems with my 5600x using a stock cooler, even in the summer. I do be blasting the AC though so I don't stick to my desk or ruin my mouse pad any faster than I already do. I've run both scratch built water systems and one of those AIO loops before. The AIO eventually started leaking when one of the fittings cracked at the rad, but I don't remember how many years I had it before that happened. You don't have to worry about heat so just build what makes you happy... unless you're going to OC, that's when you need to start worrying about heat.

Bumping this as a my Christmas gift to @PHNTM
  12. Just a little update of something I've noticed. My connection issue starts around 7:30pm EST and lasts until around 2:30am EST. 7 days a week, regardless of how many or how little are on the server. It's almost like clockwork.
  13. Jay1 has become almost permanantly screwed up for me and it's the only server I have issues with. I have a ton of bad plotter examples but I was only able to find one short period of time to run plotter with the correct ping and no packet/snap loss. I can export the plotter sessions if you need to take a more detailed look. If you think my issue is separate from his, I can start another topic or contact you directly, lmk. 40-100 ping 40-60ping 26-30 ping, where it should be.
  14. I'd personally never own anything HP which leaves #3 being the only option. What is your budget btw?
  15. I somehow posted the following response in your profile, no clue how I pulled that one off... I have one of u96d's frag movies downloaded on a HD somewhere. Does this help? lolI checked the usual places with no luck. There could still be some databases out there that don't pop up with a quick google search though. Do you have a screenshot or a realllllllllllllly good memory? Recreating the GFX side wouldn't be difficult.
