Aniky
still have it running. I can login and see my offline contacts. Here the latest popup they have going: (FYI) in looking for alternatives i came across the following: http://raptr.com/ It is a tool developed by the xfire co-founder. I will take a look and let you know. FYI, I checked out: http://www.hlsw.org/ It is sadly dead. You can still use the tool but user registration failed. Last update was in 2011. Raptr is somewat similiar to the Steam, so in the contest of having stuffs like that, could just stick to Steam and have one less program on the PC, as for HLSW, its been long since it was only meant to be as a server monitor and not some kind of IM chatting program. As for update:

Corey
I tried raptr for awhile. It was fine for a chat client, but it never really replaced my xfire. Whole point of xfire for me was to be able to see server info of who was playing and to join in. Been awhile since I have actually used raptr, but from what I could remember you could join friends games, but there was no server browser. Sucks about xfire though even though I haven't been on in awhile

Sucks about xfire though even though I haven't been on in awhile It has still been a prime tool to communicate along old buddies that u meet in the past, now that xfire is down sadly most of those contacts will never be established again and tons of good old buddies will probably be forgotten. O well, more importantly the question now remains, what to use now? Everything else seems like a bit off the line that isn't really up to xfire standards, but so was MSN at past before Skype backraped it badly. Need suggestions!
