Help and Hello! So I recently went to another server/community for fun called Polish Soldiers. Connecting... downloaded some mods/maps... blah blah blah, the regular, right?  NOW half of my options when I log into ET are in POLISH! I speak English. How the hell do I delete this polish mod stuff?? Help!!

Same happened to me, I had to reinstall my game. If u do so remember to save your etkey(in your ETmain folder) and your silent.dat(in your silent folder) so u don't lose your XP and levels etc.

The file that contains their menu is stored in your etmain folder. If you remember when you played there, you can look for a file created in that date and delete it.

There's two ways to do it, FYI.

Our PK3 cleaner will take care of it automatically, and is great software. It also unfortunately deletes all of the maps you've downloaded. (All PK3's). This can be a good thing, other times not so much.

A little bit of detective work will help you do it manually. If you find out where ET is installed (Windows is usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory), you can go to your etmain folder, and look for stuff that's not a map. For example, our PK3's have Fearless, FA, etc. in them. Keep in mind, that we also have some will null characters and tildes, but it's a similar deal. Just delete those that aren't a map that you're aware of. For example, this polish server would maybe have a PL(xxx).pk3 name. Delete those. :) Any server you connect to would re-download those files as required.

BTW, no harm in uninstalling ET-- as long as you save any of your configuration files, your ETKey, silent.dat file (if applicable), etc. I never recommend uninstalling ET though.

Exactly what I was gonna say, look for pk3's that aren't maps, but have strange names or characters and also, do NOT delete these pk3's: mp_bin, pak0, pak1 or pak2. Those are like system files

Just run our pk3 cleaner and it should take care of it. Do note - It will reinstate out classic menu's but they are much better then any polish ones and no error in it.

Hehe I knew you'd need the forums. Helping someone from the server is always a bit more difficult. Let us know whether it worked :)

Btw - the pk3 file in your etmain folder is called: "(some rectangles/empty space here)~~.pk3". You could also just delete that file. Other files you might want to get rid of are:

  • ^wP^zH^wS^1-^wgfx
  • ^wP^zH^wS^1-^wmodel
  • ^wP^zH^wS^1-^wsound
  • ^wP^zH^wS^1-^wsound1
  • ^wP^zH^wS^1-^wsound2

Especially the first two. You'll find them in program files>wolfenstein enemy territory>etmain.

Or use the pk3 cleaner :)

the pk3 cleaner worked like a gem! thanks F|A and staff!

I'm always down to learn a new language (like polish) but not when ET is calling on my day off from work! haha. Thx!
