Format - 

Add Map -> Map name  + URL to download the map - if not in our download section, upload and share URL.
Remove map -> Map name

 

Can provide multiple add/remove maps in same post.

I would like to see Flameguards stay tbh. People are learning the map more and the games are getting more interesting as a result. The final 2 phases is amazingly intense. I feel like the objectives on this map are so much fun. Challenging yet doable.

 

Yes there is that spawn issue in the final phase for axis. Is there a way we can edit the spawn a little bit for that phase?

 

And some of you may know how much I love maps with a ton of madness on it (Hotchkiss), Flameguards has no shortage of it.

Gotta agree with Cabal here. I didn't like Flameguards at first because it's big and was confusing but as I learn the map it's more fun. I just wish that the command map didn't look like it was designed by a first year architecture student.

 

That being said, I love Haunted Mansion as well. I might advocate for removing one of the smaller maps like Caen that are prone to overcrowding and almost impossible for the offense to win without rushing/sneaking.

I'm really confused why this isn't how things are already done. I asked a couple of admins on the server about the voting and they said that it isn't taken into account at all for map rotation. When I asked why not they said it would be be annoying to have to gather all the data of who likes and dislikes what maps. This seems ridiculous to me, as that's exactly what the voting system does already. People upvote or downvote because they think it means something when voting is, in effect, pointless. We have the data so why not use it?

 

I think an admin argued that if we base the map selection purely on votes then the same maps would always be on but I don't see why that needs to be the case. We can have a selection of the highest voted maps and periodically rotate through them just like we do now.  This thread would of course still be available to discuss issues with the maps and suggest new ones that maybe haven't been in the regular rotation.

I'd like the see Minas Tirith added to the rotation. I think it would benefit from the usually large team sizes the server produces. Most maps seem to be hindered by the large teams, but this one could work.

According to Beast the map is buggy, which is why it hasn't been in rotation recently.

Copy pasting of one my older posts to suggest a bunch of maps to bring a little diversity (most maps are fine though!), hope it gets more traction :

Dubrovnik (pros: fun, fast paced, lots of fighting places, a cool objective and a well designed map. cons: maybe a bit too crowded when the server is full, the objective at church could be camped easily by axis).

 

Industry: didn't play it for a long time but the obj is nice, the map is wide with a lot of fighting places too)

 

Missile: a huge map that was played in competitive settings, it's a fun map with 2 or 3 forward spawns, I don't remember its details specifically though.

 

Rommel: fun desert map, played it a long time ago.

 

Oil Raid: very well designed map, maybe too small for the server population.

 

Svarvadel: another desert map, lots of skirmishes and fighting points, fun memories.

 

Wolfsrudel: no real memories..

 

x-dam complex: fun allaround map

 

el kef: goldrush design like, could be worth a try!

 

Reactor: too crowded? used in competitive play, good memories

 

 

If we were to remove a map, I would suggest Theutonia : it's a hellhole for axis once the tank is repaired. Allies can camp and surround from above axis who can barely get out of their lair unless the teams are heavily in their favor.

Dubrovnik Wolfsrudel, and reactor are too small for Jay1. I know at least reactor is on one of the other servers.

Is industry the one inside and around a foundry? If it's the map I'm thinking of it might be a good fit. Can't really recall the other maps you listed.

Most of it is outside, there are quite large areas of fighting and more crowded places with lots of hiding spots, the designe is cool and the atmosphere  quite interesting!

Flame-guards Warzone was made with Axis final spawnpoint

next to a shelves so players get stuck, But They can be pushed

free or They can selfkill.  Unfortunatly, It can't be 'fixed'

We're entering holiday season. So time to start lookin into the xmas maps 😄 (since for most part we skipped the spooky halloween maps.)

Hey are you willing to try out industry2 as suggested? Don't know how it really works, who has the final say, wether you try the map first, etc.
