rolf Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Anyways... Examine every death. Why did I just die? Was it because I was sprinting around a corner and didn't have my gun ready? Pretty much that^^. If you notice that you died half of the times because you sprinted around a corner, you will avoid that (at least less often in my case). Furthermore, if you pay enough attention, eventually you know where other people are waiting for you and from where they kill you. Lesson one: avoid standing in their line(s) of sight. Lesson two: backstabbing. Lesson two alternative: go camp there. Improving your aim is free, except for the hours of "work". Quote
Toxic Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 All I can say is, don't be afraid to spray sometimes, I know it might be counter productive, but it really helps. Sometimes it's easier to do that if you don't have steady aim Not the perk steady aim, just good aiming in general. Another thing, know when to use your knife, I have the problem that instead of knifing, I just spray thinking I can kill them and then they knife me. Also, practice drop shot, it really helps with the spraying Quote
Iceman24 Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I have notice that if I try to be Strategic I have a good K/D ratio but if you just go out there and shoot, as fast as you can, at anything that moves. You will have a great K/D ratio. Do not throw it all out of the window. Be a little Strategic. Practice your hand eye coordination even when you are not playing. I hope these tips help you. 1 Quote
milli vanilli Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Spec gi-joe and theo. and don't do what they do 4 Quote
Edge of Reason Posted November 16, 2011 Posted November 16, 2011 try following other players and watch where they are shooting and when they are shooting. you can do the same in spec mode too. the best thing is to know the maps/spawn points and when they change. try diff weapons and perks to see what works, if you notice most players use certain weapons on certain maps Quote
Dddrgn Posted November 16, 2011 Author Posted November 16, 2011 alright, thanks! I will keep all this in mind. Quote
sparklepony Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 I will give you the best bit advice I can in the shortest way I can, get a high quality headset, know the maps like you know your own house, and learn what walls to shoot through (example if you shoot through the glass windows in broadcast room on broadcast, it will go through to the bathrooms, coming out the white door on the other side and vice versa, just about any door in the game can be fired through and will often carry bullets through thicker walls than you can normally shoot through) Quote
Lumen Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Start out slow im not saying camp but use an assault class and try to stay in a general area after you get the hang of that expand your area and try to stay alive as long as possible without getting killed or camping. Finally once you are good at that switch to an smg. Such as the p90 scorpion and mp5 restart the process. Keep expanding your area until you can run around the entire map. Now the perks vary on what gun and what game type( as in HC and Normal) A solid perk set up for normal is Bandolier, Stopping power and deep. If you get killed alot I would recomend Marty but its kind of noobie and not allowed on some servers. On HC 3 nades/Bandolier, sleight of hand, and deep. Hope this helps Happy Gaming, Lumen P.s I have seen you play in game, you will get better as you play. Just ask some people for stratagies and you'll catch on fast. So just keep playing! Quote
Spyderwebber Posted November 22, 2011 Posted November 22, 2011 Sometimes you just get a negative score. It happens to the best. I'd say learn the maps, experiment with the perks and find a combo you like, and find a gun you like. I like to use the UAV Jammer, move silent, and guns with silencers on them. It keeps you off the enemy's radar and you can sneak around and get kills. But if you aren't the patient type, then run & gun can work too, just don't stop moving. Quote
ReedLAb Posted November 25, 2011 Posted November 25, 2011 hi ddrgn! i remember when i first started on FA server...it was the hardest server by far, the players were all really good. i told speedfact i was going to get better and then come back and play. he wisely told me to stay and keep playing. surely but slowly i got better. you just have to keep playing. hey i remember you got that 15 kill streak on the map 'strike' about 2 weeks back...keep working at it! Buelligan Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 hey i remember you got that 15 kill streak on the map 'strike' about 2 weeks back...keep working at it! A 15 kill streak??? I dream of a 15 kill streak!!! (But I still enjoy playing!) Quote
Ch11m33y aka. ChiLLy<3 Posted November 29, 2011 Posted November 29, 2011 i didnt read every single comment through here but one thing that helps me alot is sound, not just speakers, if u have a decent headsett u can tune your sound settings on your computer to be surround wich will help you hear ppl before you can see them and before they can react u can spray em full of bullets, alltough then theres ppl like malo who you just simply cant beat Quote
TuNNel-Rat Posted December 10, 2011 Posted December 10, 2011 (edited) Gameplay Dddrgn, ultimately for all of us and this is true for all FPS games, results will vary and are most dependent on the specifics of your system and how much experience you bring from other platforms/games/participation in clan warfare. I too play on a laptop http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/toshiba-satellite-a505-s6025/4507-3121_7-33971092.html?tag=mncol;subnav and don't have much trouble keeping up usually. If hardware is your issue you may want to look into getting more ram, vidcard with dedicated video ram, or getting a custom rig. Sound As some have mentioned don't neglect respect for sound. I use these http://reviews.cnet.com/headphones/bose-triport-in-ear/4505-7877_7-32150146.html and I'm set. Used to own a huge expensive KOSS headset but that was mostly for clan requirements. I also have this http://store.sony.ca/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=100803&storeId=20153&langId=200&productId=8198552921666341665 and will test it out one day to the chagrin of my strata council I'm sure. Soldier Classification + Tactics Beyond that, acute situational (attention to detail) awareness is key. Do what you can to adopt the "tactical mindset." If you've played any of the Medal of Honor Allied Assault expansion packs you'll understand. They way you play, the way you think is paramount...its how you see the game. You may wish to dedicate your trg to a certain weapon per week till you become proficient and comfy (defensively) with it. Confidence comes with time. Don't try to copy or match other players if they're style isn't your thing. Personally I have never been a high score chaser or achiever. It would take me 5-10 maps to get the score Razor or Kings or Supernova get in one map. Rather adjust your style to match your systems limits, your own reaction time, and what type of soldier you visualize yourself being. Consider moving from point to point as opposed to general areas on a map, cover your corners, moving on the right hand side, passing behind someone firing their weapon or ducking. If you're in a room with 3 other snipers..relocate or grab an smg and sweep the perimeter for threats so they can focus soley on sniping when claymores run out. Finally, switch servers to see how others play. F|A has 2 servers, see how your tactics measure up vs others or the Euro crowd. On maps when my score goes all to hell I'll support my team by targeting and lighting up key sniper areas on Crossfire or Ambush just to expose their positions, hoping my boys pick up on it and don't let me die in vain. Weapons Play to your weapons specs. Ignore constant complaints about holding a key position (camping), spray and pray MG users vs bolt action rifles...you've heard it all. If you're sniping you're not going to be leading the charge in battle or spending a lot of time in a tunnel. If you have a heavy MG, focus on providing your troops with suppressing fire from a location with some relative cover, or go prone. Ideally you want to find yourself around the middle-end of the pack. Breacher (shotgun) works well around corners, room clearing or tight environments. Toggle your perks to see what works best with that weapon (faster reloading vs more magazines). Buddy up with someone like-minded and see what you can achieve together. Condition yourself to refain from panicking, practice patience. If you can shoot someone, don't bother with your knife. Also try 3 round bursts or true double tapping as opposed to a massive spray. Example: A bosun who assisted trg me on the C-9 gun recommended saying "son-of-a-b*tch" in your head to get the right burst rate of fire for effective suppression. Jumping As for the ppl who endorse jumping (aka bunny hopping), if it works for them fine but I'd stay away from it. Its un-orthodox at first but it too can be countered. Stick to what you would do instinctively in real life were you in that situation. At the business end of a weapon with rounds coming down range as yourself what will it take to win that firefight? Long & Short Trial and error. Experience is the best teacher. With time you'll find the weapon/class that best suits your prefences and personality. Hope this helps. =FlA=Duk Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I have a couple of recommendations. 1: take the time to learn the maps. This will give you an advantage to anyone who has never played the map before. Also, learn the flow of the map, and where people will probably be. 2: Since you're on a laptop, (I am too) try to buy a mouse, and use it to play. This really helps your aim 3: Shoot down helicopters. You can take them down in about 1 lmg clip. 4: Don't stay in one spot for too long, but don't go sprinting around the whole time. Find a good place in between Quote
Wyvern Posted December 11, 2011 Posted December 11, 2011 I've gotten some good scores myself, You basically need to watch for radar, Always look to your sides, Be sure to be stealthy in corners, Rushing is your main advantage if you want some kills. So basically. I recommend this Class, Which i use alot. M4 Carbine w/ Silencer Secondary: Any except Desert Eagles Perk 1: Bandoiler | For enough ammunition to seek out your enemy/opponents Perk 2: Rapid fire | Your gonna need to kill your enemies quick, and be able to run before any units are able to fire at you, while your killing your opponent Perk 3: Deep Impact | Many people will be around walls, Hiding, Your gonna need this incase someone runs away hiding behind a wall, and for better shots from side|side views like windows. If you really wanna Defend & Offense I recommend this Class M40A1 Sniper Secondary: M4 Carbine w/ Scope Perk 1: Bandoiler | Extra ammunition for defending points, and rushing points. Perk 2: Obviously, If your gonna use a Secondary as a Primary, You know what the perk is. Perk 3: Deep Impact | Rushing, and Defending Sniper Shots Be Stealthy, Stay Focused, Be proud, The few, the Only, Hooah! See you in the battlefield mate. Quote
