isn't it a...script ? :o

Scripts that offer major differences that give a big advantage to the user over the rest of the players is not allowed.

Little scripts and tweaks like customising crosshairsize or alternating between a few sizes with specific binds are allowed.

so with these binds you are essentially binding a key that has a script for a different crosshair size than what you are using?

Is there a diff between "little" and "script that give a big..." ?

Seriously ? :o

Any wiki link please ? I want to know. :/

Yes. Or it can be done automatically when you start shooting, or go crouch or so...not necessary usefull with this subject. I used for example fov change when shooting, or auto run when shooting...

A little example of this script, dunno if it works tho, haven't tested it. It is a basic vstr script and maybe can be found from our tutorial section where is explained about cfg stuff.

So this should work like press X, crosshair is big, press again, it is smaller (or vice versa :D ). Ofc X can be anything other you like and size also.

bind X "vstr ch"

set chout "set cg_crosshairSize 60; set ch vstr chin"
set chin "set cg_crosshairSize 40; set ch vstr chout"
set ch "vstr chout"

It can be confusing but actually it's quite simple once you know the difference :

Any script that alters genuine gameplay, such as removing recoil, is not allowed.

Scripts that simply change between settings you like is fine..

For example I used to have a script that changed my field of view when shooting - I played at 120 fov, but when I fired it would change to 90 fov so I could see the target better.. These are genuine settings that I could easily bind to a key to allow me to change from 90 to 120 anyway so it's no big deal.. I don't use that script any more because I play 90 fov permanently now but it's a good example anyway

I disabled /cg_athmosphericeffect (?) too.

Not really a script that makes me better. Yes, Radars seems easier cause of no rain.

But changing fov is, to me, another kind of... but it smells like a cheat.

:o

the prob is when you do !demo, the vid you're watching is with your own config. So How to detect ?

Most players use minimal settings for better visibility and FPS so that's fine. Any illegal cvars are forced anyway.

Since when is changing fov cheating? That's just crazy talk.. it's just preference. Fov 120 gives more vision but less accuracy, 90 does the opposite.. use whichever you prefer! Changing to 90 means you get killed by people outside of your vision anyway so it all balances out.

Demos should always be watched using a stripped back cfg that gives the best visibility. I think there is even a few demo cfgs out there.

seta cg_drawCrosshair "5"

seta cg_crosshairSize "35"

Thought this was mine, not fully sure though but this says in my cfg.

You have to play on high settings otherwise you wont see it.

Are we talking about the same thing ?

I said : script to changing fov in battle isn't fair.

Thats what i mean. Adjusting sensitivity throughout the game. For example, super low sens for distant fights or medium to high sens. for close up fights. :P Toggling between the two by binding it. Not a big advantage.
