Some of you know it already but a few weeks ago I started with mapping again, yes again. Back in the day I made many maps but that was for the game FarCry and for local LAN party’s. Making ET maps is a bit different and harder than I used to be but it’s working out just fine. See SS (as you can see the map will be played by night!) The map that I’m creating looks like the maps Fueldump and Railgun with white roads and mountains. But the objective looks like Goldrush (escort tank to objective, steal it and escape with the truck) Well the idea of the map is that it’s a pre fight before the official Railgun map: Axis need to (re)take the objective (= an important part of the Railgun) and take it to the train station. Here are the global objectives, I’m not revealing everything of course: The Allied objective 1. Defend train station 2. Stop the tank heading to bunker 3. Defend the objective 4. Stop the truck heading to train station The Axis objective 1. Blow up / capture the train station 2. Escort tank to allied bunker 3. Steal the objective 4. Escort truck to train and escape I’m very curious what you guys think about it. I also need a map name, right know I’m thinking of the name: Mountain Escape But if you guys have a better suggestion please post them! Hodor Posted April 20, 2017 Author Share Posted April 20, 2017 Time for an update! Hello all, first I wanna thank you all for your comments and feedback on the forum’s and ingame! I’ve been very busy with making the map and had may questions like when will it be ready and can we test it? Unfortunately, it is not finished yet and also we can’t test it yet…. I also want to play and test it with you guys but we just have to wait a little longer. Now it’s time to give you the update you all deserve: Most things I have added/changed are little details (you guys won’t notice them). But what you guys will notice is that I worked on the open spaces, now both teams have more cover. I know there are still some open spaces and some of them need more cover, I will work on that the next couple of days until I think it’s balanced enough. But when it’s playable we are going to test it of course! Again, I’m very curious what you guys think about the first update. Remember it’s still a concept and you guys all still have input! PS: I hope that in the next update the tank, tank barriers, objective and the escape truck are ready. These block's outside and that huge space reminds me of beach invasion map But all in all it looks nice. I usually play as an engii and one thing came to my mind - there is only ground where you can plant landmines? Could you add some dirt etc., something, that will prevent from deploying the landmines, it can be crucial for allies while defending the tank's run. And even though there're more obstacles, the field of vision is very far, you could add some trees and e.g power lines to make it less possible to see or shoot enemies from far away.
