Playoffs will start saturday (19.April) So its time to play our annual playoff poll. Last year winner was @D..X who will this time?

Here is rules and infos. Thank you @meow

Past years winners

2024 @D..X

2018 @L3ftY.

2017: @Letdown

2016: @L3ftY.

2015: @hobbit

Here's how it works:

We give a rank to each teams from 1 to 16

16 = the team you think has the best chance to win the Stanley Cup

15 = the team you think has the 2nd best chance to win the Stanley Cup

...

1 = the team you think has no chance to win the first round

After each round, you are awarded points using the rank you gave to the winning teams

1st round = rank x 1pts

2nd round = rank x 2pts

3rd round = rank x 4pts

final round = rank x 8pts

Example:

I give Chicago a rank of 14 and they lose in the 3rd round.

1st round = 14 x 1 = 14 pts

2nd round = 14 x 2 = 28 pts

3rd round = 0 pts

final round = 0 pts

So Chicago gave me 42pts.

We do this with every team and add up all the points.

You can post your picks here or send them to me by PM if you don't want everyone to copy you before playoffs starts.

I will post everyone's picks together when the playoffs begins.

You have until *INSERT STARTING DATE OF PLAYOFFS* (until the first game starts) to send me your picks or make changes to them.

Let's try to get every hockey fan in this pool. The more the merrier!

Good luck to everyone!!

For me Dallas vs Colorado pair is most interesting. I am cheering Dallas to win because Granlund is playing in there. I like Oettinger also. I will also watch Wild serie and Carolina serie and try to watch Edmonton and Toronto series also. Dallas have 7 game losing streak going, so i am worried how they can turn they game better. They lost seven, because they played very poorly. Example losing three goal lead in last minute of game against Vancouver was very bad. Depoer is coach who heavily favore his favorite players and not do a lot line changes. Best example is how Heiskanen was playing in two PP units and Dallas PP units was strugling. Once Heiskanen injured Depoer had to give Harley time in PP and Dallas had one of best Powerplays with Harley. I am worried how Dallas is able to switch they poor playing against Colorado or will Colorado come and win serie 4-0 or 4-1. Landeskog should be back in the lineups for game 1. Will that give Colorado extra boost, or will that mess balance of team? Is Landeskog still NHL caliber player or is he liability? I still put Dallas win the Cup.

Interesting series to watch is also Winnipeg Jets vs St. Louis Blues. Winnipeg has been strugling in the playoffs past years and Blues has been hottest team of NHL. I will not be surprised if Blues will win the serie. Is this finally year when Los Angeles is able to win Edmonton? Edmonton has been minor dissapointment for me so far, i waited a lot stronger year from them, but maybe they just save best for the playoffs? Everything is always possible, but i believe Toronto is favorite to win Cup from east. They played well and Berube is first year as coach, he is coach who players listen most in first year, after that he start to lose team little by little because his strick game style eat enjoyment from star players. Goalies will be key in Berube gamestyle. So far Toronto goalies played strong year, but its goalies who determine how long run Maple Leafs will have. Devils is my dark horse, they have potential to go long, but this is probably learning year from them, they are future franchise team.

Here come my predictions.

What you think? Is it time for new GM? Personally i been wondering Yzerplan, i never fully understand that plan. Couple season ago they stacked veteran defenders to teams, d-mans who was third d-pair defenders. Last summer they stacked goalies. Talbot was good signing, but they also bring Campbell to team who already had promising Cossa, veterans Husso and Lyon on team. Trade deadline they did bring Mrazek back. Husso was failure, but Lyon wasnt bad. Because they was stacking those secondary goalies and  d-mans it was hard to see plan behind it. In Tampa Yzerplan was working because they was drafting very well, in past Detroit was main example how to draft well. 2016-2018 drafts they didnt get any key players and before they was drafting well outside of first round, but now Detroit havent found any key draft picks outside of first round. Now they drafted well in first round and Detroit have promising offensive group and talented goalie on Cossa. Edvinvinsson and Seider are good young d-mans so future should be bright. Drafting outside of first round and free agence is something where they need to do better. You have to give credit to Yzerman on Seider and Raymonds contracts. Those was good signings.

Last year I would have won if I shared my guesses, sadly I didn't, because I didn't watch a lot of hockey. Barely watched any games this year either but figured I'd give it a shot 😅 (YES I'm a (probably ridiculous) hopeful leafs fan xD) GO LEAFS GO!
