Blunt Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 Did it, enabled TPM in my BIOS and installed it. Personally I would use the same operating system for the next 50 years if could, I dislike change on a utility (yes the operating system to me is a utility). However security is not on the side of a dated O/S. I "hopefully" will get better security. I can say this, install went smooth, all my hardware got recognized, no issues. My list of complaints with win 11 is minimal, but I do have some, they made it harder to find installed software. I liked the alphabetical list of installed software when the Start button is pressed. Now I have to type in the name of the software if I didn't put an icon on my desktop/taskbar. I hate guessing games. My other issue is the stupid task bar has been put in the center. So now when I hit the Start button, I have to then bring my mouse cursor from the left to the center to do any action (I used to be able to just go up). Now that may sound like crying, but to someone who gets wrist movement soreness at the end of the day from working with a computer, every reduction in mouse movement helps. The reason I keep my mouse set to super fast. Like I said minor annoyances, not a deal breaker. 1 Quote

One of my first modifications was moving the task bar to the left --- I am like you and was not a fan of it being centered. Glad to hear overall tho that the process wasnt too difficult! 1 Quote
Gengis Posted April 25, 2022 Posted April 25, 2022 For now, i decided to stay with W10 since it will be supported until 2025. Also, the reviews i read about W11 didnt convince me read i should upgrade my PC. Gengis 1 Quote
Haruhi Suzumiya Posted April 26, 2022 Posted April 26, 2022 This site has a lot of amazing tools for w10 to take back user control. This update blocker is easy to use and works fantastic https://www.sordum.org/9470/windows-update-blocker-v1-7/ 1 Quote
Snuffs99 Posted April 28, 2022 Posted April 28, 2022 Been using Win 11 for a good while now and have it just how i want....The only thing i didn't like was i had to jump through a hell of a lot of hoops to gain full control and ownership over windows defender...Pain in arse that was. Anyways.....i'm happy with windows 11 on my PC, it plays and does everything i want so besides the defender issues i cannot complain. 1 Quote

Snuffs99 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 (edited) Downloaded and installed..............other than having to disable driver sig enforcement via advanced start up and installing my own Zboard fang drivers over the "signed" ones all went without probs (i always have to turn off driver enforcement with all big windows updates so nothing new and pretty seamless now). Widgets etc lost on me as i have all that shite (inc cortana) turned off. BUT i'm done now and on latest version so all in all a good outcome. Edition Windows 11 Pro Version 22H2 Installed on 21/09/2022 OS build 22621.382 Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.22632.1000.0 TBH i've not had many issues with Win 11 at all so really cant complain. EDIT** Been having a play and seems they finally made WSA (Windows Subsystem for Android) work, works really well my end, downloaded a load of android apps via amazon store and all working great so fingers crossed i can get rid of the likes of bluestacks and nox..... once i've seen how well it handles sideloads that is, off to download ADB and have a play.. Happy dayz EDIT 2** Yep WSA works very, very well. Sideloaded no probs .......Woohooo, no more Nox etc Edited September 21, 2022 by Snuffs99 1 1 Quote
Blunt Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 Glad to hear it went smooth. Interesting note on WSA, I have been wanting to give it a try also. Now it's fresh on my mind again. Quote

Nothing seems to be working Any suggestions what should be done?? Quote

Nothing seems to be working Any suggestions what should be done?? Tough one, what make is your sound card? I had issues with very very low volume on mine (realtek) when i first installed windows 11 last year, i tried all the proper drivers from mobo manufacturer with no success, in teh end i had to do a couple of reg fixes along with manually installing "Realtek Audio Console" from the Microshaft store in order to bypass the "reduced volume" it was "locked" at using the windows driver. I have the files somewhere for re-installs just in case as it was a pain in the arse to sort, if your on realtek i'll try find them. On another note i reverted explorer view to windows 10 ribbon style when i first installed Win 11 as i find the windows 11 one very basic, this update though has not only reverted everything back to the windows 11 explorer but has also now stopped the reg hack to revert back to ribbons from working.....ARRGGGHHHHH Will have to wait a few days see if anyone comes up with a new reg fix......Barstewards. @Blunt Give it a go mate, very easy to install, start with "amazon appstore" on the windows store and go from there, should install the WSA from there etc. Sideloads are easy enough via cmd window too so let us know how it goes.....Dont be like me though and get too click happy, it can take a few seconds longer to run an android app. Android apps only require 1 x click so give it a mo before you go clicking again otherwise you will have lots of the same app starting. 😄 Edited September 21, 2022 by Snuffs99 Quote
mraw435 Posted September 21, 2022 Posted September 21, 2022 never really had to use WSA in the past - pretty cool that it works without a hitch now! i dont like how the widgets menu is still absolute crap but cant complain too much as ill forget about it in a few days. 49 minutes ago, New guy said: Hi I upgraded my windows 10 laptop to windows 11 few weeks ago But now no earphones / headphones are working in my laptop I did everything I could, like reinstalling the audio driver and other stuffs.
