5N34KYK1LL Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 i hate to rewaken a dead thread but recently certain people and i must also include myself one or twice (specifically makkarech). some people have disregarded that "!rush" command when someone types it in. i dont name names but one specific person hates fuel dump and intentionally ignores the rush rule even my asking him not to blow it up to get to exit the fuel dump, and this happens more or less straight after the grate is destroyed so that person can play baserace on JayMod XPS 2. this 40% rule is not having any impact what so ever on game play.. what i would suggest is an automatic death when trying to arm a dyna/capture/build on specific objectives when a certain few arguements in the command script was not completed.
Number1Dad Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 Hmm. I have mixed feelings on this. I can't stand people doing easy trick jumps like Oasis. I hate Fuel Dump and Caen2 but if I did like them I'm sure I'd be annoyed at people taking unis and rushing them. It's one thing in a scrim when you can communicate that to your team in Vent (usually you have one back watching the wall on Oasis), but it's annoying in pubs. On the other hand, not allowing the obj to be completed when the offense is able to will cause the offense to hang back closer to their own spawn. Good maps are not designed for this. If the teams are even in skill and number, the offense will have an increasingly hard time getting the objective. This doesn't matter much on your Jaymod servers (which I rarely play at) because, let's be honest, most people that play large servers aren't looking for objective play. However, I hear this often on the ETPub server when I do what comes instinctively on doc running maps like Frostbite where you have to take the first opportunity that presents itself. In short, I don't think it's a big deal if the rush is due to a lack of defense.
5N34KYK1LL Posted April 29, 2009 Posted April 29, 2009 i have ways of getting around defenses on a few maps, making the point of offense vs defense null, however there are maps where i can not get past without some person(s) on distraction, and even then if im quick enough the enemy will be quickly overwhelmed. thats rushing like you have seen before and all on a good day. but the other thing is on jay xps 2 there is double jump meaning anyone can jump that wall put the dyna down and blow the dump or the guns.. and all it requires is just one person who has it all his own way or not at all. for example, on makkarech, i take advantage of other players or bots mistake when they open the outer doors, i sneak in and within half a minue the backdoor and lab door is destroyed and the objective is 3/4's of the way home, skill permitting, i can sometimes follow the ai back out with the obj to the truck without being noticed.. but i havent tried this yet however i know it can be done.

hobbit Posted May 7, 2009 Posted May 7, 2009 Since this is a pub, the point is pretty much to frag as much as u can. If it was not a pub then it wouldn't matter i guess. I voted 60% just so people who want to frag abit on some of the "funner" maps (for me) like braun,frost,adler,supply,bremen.
5N34KYK1LL Posted May 9, 2009 Posted May 9, 2009 fragging doesnt make a whole load of difference if 2 players 1 engy and one other class allows to arm the dyna on the otherside of the oasis guns instead of where you would normally place it. that an abuse of double jump and no one will be able to stop it going off. it makes that whole point void really, especially in a rush situation.

The main entrance represents the start of the map; big and quite a battle to get through . the tunnel represtns the tunnel - not much of a battle really. The dragon is the way up to the fuel depot and past that, past the dragon, is the actually fuel dump. Now, if you were like potter youd use everyone else to distract the goblins (axis) sneak into the tunnel , and because the dragon is unawares, sneak past , dj (or get cov op like that goblin he had) and plant . And its non-advisavle because all the goblins will get pssed that you got past the dragon without a fight and so will the author
