meow
Here's this year's NHL playoffs pool! Last year we had 5 people participating. Let's get more!! Here's how it works: We give a rank to each teams from 1 to 16 16 = the team you think has the best chance to win the Stanley Cup 15 = the team you think has the 2nd best chance to win the Stanley Cup ... 1 = the team you think has no chance to win the first round After each round, you are awarded points using the rank you gave to the winning teams 1st round = rank * 1pts 2nd round = rank * 2pts 3rd round = rank * 4pts final round = rank * 8pts Example: I give Chicago a rank of 14 and they lose in the 3rd round. 1st round = 14 x 1 = 14 pts 2nd round = 14 x 2 = 28 pts 3rd round = 0 pts final round = 0 pts So Chicago gave me 42pts. We do this with every team and add up all the points. You can post your picks here or send them to me by PM if you don't want everyone to copy you before playoffs starts. I will post everyone's picks together when the playoffs begins. You have until Wednesday April 15 (until the first game starts) to send me your picks or make changes to them. Let's try to get every hockey fan in this pool. The more the merrier! Here is the NHL playoffs tree to help you with your choices. http://www.nhl.com/ice/stanleycup.htm Good luck to everyone!!

von Rantala
@LAK Fan you are agree with me that Wild have hardest opponed, but i was disappointed u put Wild in last place. @Meow Thanks you for believing my team, u saw any Wild game lately? I know why ppls not believe our team, we get very hard opponed in first round, but we was best in NHL after playoff break, so i mean half of season we was best in NHL, but Wild play in place where they not get all media visibility as some teams get. I have waiting that playoffs start already, sametime im sad that regular season is over already, i enjoy so much NHL hockey and Hockey that i started watch old Niittymäki games from 2003-2004. If Wild lose it will hurt a lot, because now we play so great hockey, i so so hope that we can go to long, i love our team, and i think its best team what i never see (what i had watched Wild). I know that we have couple weak links too, but players can take next step in playoffs and then those are not weak links anymore, example Koivu is great second line center, but Granlund is not so great in first line center, he should be winger, plus if we lose Koivu we lose all changes to go long in playoffs, because he is our best center and no one cant take his spot, example if Parise who played better season injure, we have couple players who can take his spot, like Zucker and Vanek. Ofcourse we are one goalie team, so we have to hope that everyone can stay healthy. Let see i believe our chances! Go Wild Go! Minnesota ... sorry von Rantala EA Sports' simulation predicts repeat by LA KINGS Woo Hoo ! http://www.nhl.com/ice/news.htm?id=732441 In its annual NHL season simulation released Wednesday, EA Sports predicts the defending-champion Los Angeles Kings will defeat the Boston Bruins in six games in the 2015 Stanley Cup Final for their second straight championship and third in the past four seasons, giving the NHL its first bona fide dynasty in more than a decade. The Conn Smythe Trophy will go to Kings forward Anze Kopitar, who is also predicted to win the Selke Trophy for his regular-season play in the simulation. To reach the Stanley Cup Final, the Kings again will have to go through the Chicago Blackhawks, whom the simulation expects to face Los Angeles in the Western Conference Final for the third consecutive spring. The Bruins are predicted to beat the Columbus Blue Jackets, who despite losing in the Eastern Conference Final would still have their most successful season to date. The defending Eastern Conference champion New York Rangers are predicted to lose to the Philadelphia Flyers in seven games in the first round. Though the Pittsburgh Penguins are also expected to be eliminated in the first round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs by Columbus, it will once again be a banner year for Penguins center Sidney Crosby. The simulation predicts Crosby to win the Hart Trophy, the Art Ross Trophy, the Maurice "Rocket" Richard Trophy and the Ted Lindsay Award, which would be the first time he has taken home all four awards in the same season. Montreal Canadiens goalie Carey Price wins the Vezina Trophy as the League's top goaltender. The Norris Trophy for the NHL's best defenseman is won by the Arizona Coyotes' Oliver Ekman-Larsson, while Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane takes home the Lady Byng Memorial Trophy. Tampa Bay Lightning forward Jonathan Drouin wins the Calder Trophy as top rookie. The Calgary Flames are predicted to finish last in the 2014-15 regular-season standings. Not bad at all in that prediction there was 4 wrong team in west side so only 50 % and in east 4 wrong team too and Cup Final is totally wrong when both are outside of playoffs. So that again show that EA know nothing on NHL. I havent check how my first prediction show, i will be happy if i get 70% rigth Playoff pool is a lot harder to quess than regular season EDIT This prediction not show good either when only 50% right from west, but East looking a lot better Sportsnet’s 2014-15 NHL predictions http://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/sportsnets-2014-15-nhl-predictions/ Oh lookie ... my LA KINGS again From Pacific they quess only one team right and both team who they guess out of playoff is actually in playoff in Central division Btw only reason to quote your post from this topic was that you find where i put your quotes from NHL topic! and i didnt want to point my message to u even that i quote u just wanted to show how hard is to quess winners in NHL atm.
