A tutorial for Kubuntu / Ubuntu (Maybe also Debian ) Linux platform install.
I made a fresh Kubuntu 23.10 install. Tried to run ET Legacy on it and experienced some problems about missing packages. Managed to install and run.
Here is what to do to run ET Legacy:
sudo dpkg --add-architecture i386
sudo apt update
sudo apt install libasound2-plugins
sudo apt install libdrm2:i386
sudo apt install libexpat1:i386
sudo apt install libglu1-mesa:i386
sudo apt install libgl1:i386
sudo apt install libsdl2-2.0-0:i386
Load these packages and accept all dependencies and suggested packages.
Go to https://www.etlegacy.com/download page. Most of the servers including FA servers are running with 32 bit version. To connect these servers select also install 32 bit installer.
Download installer.
Find the file downloaded and right click on it.
Right click at home and create "Enemy Territory" folder. (or where you want to install program) Copy installation file to this directory.
On permissions tab click on check box "is executable"
Then in the folder where you want to make install click F4. Below Konsole screen will open.
