  1. Welcome back to ET and welcome to our community!
  2. With regards to the amount of VRAM needed, it depends on what you want to do with your upgraded PC. If, e.g., you want to play modern, next-gen games in 4K resolution, I would recommend a GPU with more than 8 GB of VRAM. The 3060 Ti performs very well for its price, basically en par with an RTX 2080 Super, but I have doubts about it being a future-proof GPU because of its limited VRAM. Your 1,000 W PSU is more than enough for your Ryzen 5800X/Radeon 6800 XT setup, in fact, you could even think about downsizing to 750 W because your 1,000 W PSU probably won't be anywhere near its
  3. Very excited about the game. I don't even mind bugs too much as long as they are not game breaking/preventing game progress. Given the scale of the game, bugs and some crashes are to be expected and acceptable, I think.
  4. If you do not have IPv6 connectivity on any device without disabling it on the devices, it must be due to your router or your ISP. Does your router have a Graphical User Interface? There you should be able to see whether you have native IPv4 and IPv6 connectivity. If you do not have native IPv6 connectivity anymore (which I assume in your case, as you have none on your multiple devices), this could be because your ISP has disabled native IPv6 support and only assigns you a native IPv4 address anymore. This would be odd because it's usually the other way around (no more IPv4 address
  5. I was a huge fan of the G9x as well. Fit was perfect, the laser was top-notch, the Logitech Gaming Software offered a lot of customisation possibilities that are to this day relatively uncommon and it was awesome that you could put additional weights into the mouse to make it heavier. Only drawback was the relatively high lift off distance which is why in my opinion the mouse was better suited for high sensitivity than for low. Mine broke sometime in 2013 or 2014, I think - mouse started registering phantom clicks on the right mouse button (double clicking). Tried to repair it with

  7. A sort of compromise that could be reached would be to keep KR and continue using it for balancing purposes, but not display it publicly or make it so, that you can only query your own KR via console, and not see those of others (unless you are an admin). I do see both sides of the debate. On one side you have the problem that global stats tracking and a leaderboard of sorts makes people play more for stats, less for the general objective of the game. Also it gives people the opportunity to taunt others who have lower KRs. Those are not ET-specific problems, you encounter them in a
  8. Do you have those problems in other games, too, or is it restricted solely to Enemy Territory? Do you experience 'hiccups' with audio or video playback, too? You can download the program LatencyMon and analyse your system for processes that might make your system 'stutter'. You can download the program here: https://www.heise.de/download/product/latencymon?hg=1&hgi=0&hgf=false It's a German website, just click on the green button on the right saying "Download". Install the program, open it, start the analysing process, play ET for 10 minutes and then
  9. My name hails from the Cross of Iron movies from the '70s with James Coburn as Feldwebel Steiner. As I was having problems coming up with a name to give myself ingame sometime in 2003, my brother was watching the movie on the television behind me. Name has a good sound to it and it suits a World War 2 game like Wolfenstein, so I went with it. Wrongly I assumed Coburn in that movie had the rank of "Leutnant". A year later I watched the movie myself and noticed the mistake, but I didn't bother to change it to "Fw Steiner", as I had by then already
  10. Both in contagiosity and in their reproduction rates SARS-CoV-1 and 2 are very similar. That the spread of the former could be ultimately contained, while the latter did not, is most probably due to an insufficient governmental and medical response in 2019 and 2020 compared to 2003, not a difference in the properties of the respective virus. I'm positive that had the response been as swift and transparent with COVID-19 as it had been with SARS, it could have been contained. Right now the primary focus must lie on making the best out of the hand that one was dealt. But once this cri
  11. I do understand reservations about the government severely restricting personal liberties and freedom. But in the current situation, what is the alternative? If the government does nothing, the number of infections will continue to grow exponentially. High lethality, the dangers of a collapse of the healthcare system aside: the idea to just let it burn through the population is based on the assumption that people develop a long-term immunity against SARS-CoV-2 after they have had survived an infection. So far we do not know if people actually develop such long-term immunity. What i
