Sniper Rifle and Pistol - Bad Recoil

Hey guys,

 

If I try to use the sniper rifle or pistols within 5 shots I am looking straight up now. I have been told this is an FPS issue, but I have tried adjusting my FPS repeatedly and it makes no difference. Does anyone know any other solution to this? It has never been this bad before. I have not changed any settings. I have had a really bad connection lately despite having a low ping, there are a lot of lag spikes and red bars on my lagometer. I am not sure if this is the cause of my issues. Any ideas would be great.

What's your current m_pitch and what FPS?  71FPS will allow for the lowest recoil possible.

I have tried adjusting my m_pitch between 0 and the recommended 0.022(?) It makes no difference.

Are there any other console command that influence recoil?

What else could it be? I did get a new mouse, but I have plugged the old mouse in to test it and it still does it there as well.

It's not a mouse or m_pitch issue. Those only deal with your vertical mouse movement which can help you fight recoil but don't effect how much recoil is actually being drawn.

 

What fps are you using? Different values will drastically change how much recoil you get. For example, many will play with a steady 125 fps but toggle to 71 for pistols or sniper rifle which cuts recoil in about half from 125 and is also the lowest recoil for any fps.

I have tried all of the suggested methods in this thread including adjusting my com_maxfps all over the place (up and down), m_pitch (up and down), rate, and resolution and nothing is resolving this. I am not sure what else to do. If I am scoped on the sniper rifle each shot goes up and out of view, within 3 shots I am looking straigh up. Should I reinstall the game? Check memory usage? Are there any other commmands that directly affect this?

 

Edit: I have also tried adjusting my cl_maxpackets, and tried this on another server that is not jaymod and the results are the same.

No that is normal. 71fps will reduce your recoil a bit but you still have to use your mouse to recenter your crosshair.
