EVIL BUTTERS Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 I know I'm old but had my kids so we went down to the pier and broke out the paddle board. Doing good then fell off about 50 feet from the pier. Hense the water is 39 degrees. Fell of the board, Lost my glasses and tried to dive for them. Only 8 feet of water but so far from the pier. Thinking nothing of the temp of the water. I dove down then I could not reach the bottom, because my body would not swim. I was numb. f***................So note don't f***ing fall off a shit ass paddle board and almost die. LOL Took me 40 minutes to warm up. Never have I ever been that cold and having the shivers that bad. Don't be a dumb f*** like me.........I thought I was not Human LOL..But scared the shit out of me and the Kids. Peace... The pic is when I was getting on the Board lol. Bad BUTTERS.. 5 Quote
vehx Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 i know what you mean ,, a few years back i was at tybee island , and my step son's plastic beach raft ( a super cheep one at that lol) got caught by the tide and started floating away ( towards the inlet right next to the beach ) , so super dad (me ) had to come to the rescue , so i dove in and swam for it ,,,, about the same distance out as you lol , and i noticed that when i paused for a second and let my legs drift down just a little deeper ,, the water was much much colder ,,, and i noticed i was moving faster and faster towards the inlet , so i said screw the raft and began to swim back ,,, to no avail ,,, i was still getting pulled to the inlet ,,,, and now i was exausted and getting numb,, thankfully my friend ( best friend for life ) dove in and swam to me ,, , together we managed to get back to shore ,,,, mayby its time we took up shuffleboard lol ....... glad you made it and be well in the future =) p.s. DAMN thats alot of ink !! =P 1 Quote
Masa_1964 Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 Cold water is dam dangerous and sudden for accidents. I'm not good swimmer and I got cramp on leg. Was about 5m from peer and it was dam difficult to get there (was allready underwater and pulled me up from peer pole). And there was no one close by. Scare moments. But good to hear at u okay! Quote
Leader RedBaird Posted May 23, 2017 Leader Posted May 23, 2017 You just needed some glasses-straps, the kind that keep your glasses in front of your eyes. "For want of a nail, the kingdom was lost", said a medieval king who lost his glasses during battle. 1 Quote
iCiCeLzz Posted May 23, 2017 Posted May 23, 2017 The real question is why are you paddle boarding in 39 degree water? lol I must say the scenery of the trees and that mountain is absolutely gorgeous. Where is that if you don't me asking? Quote
