Question about Players getting on Roof

I was not aware of AntiChrist's "DJ=yes, 1J=no" rule.  I've been telling players on jay2 to stay off of the roof (in my meanest voice).

Ok but in Jay1 on the xmas map  it single jump so they cant get on roof.  But reindeer hoofs kick you there.  Ive seen other get on roofs somehow.  Are they allow in parts of the map and parts not?

A lot of maps have roofs that can be reached, but Aldernest has a special problem.  The flat roof there is larger than any other that I know of and the main complaint was about arty and air strikes by a fop up there.  The fop could throw air-strike markers from over the lip of the roof and could not be shot.  A fop could also pop his head up anwhere along that long roof to call arty in.

I don't play double jump often so I can't confirm this, but I was told that it is possible to get up there using double jump alone, and if that is truly the case, then it is likely allowed as per our rules.

 

But without double jump, you have players saying "push me" which is when they are using the glitch.

 

The debate can go even further, that the map makers started to make the door and ladder to the roof, and the roof is completely able to be walked on by players, but they decided to never include that part of the map in the final release for some reason.(Maybe they found it to be an unfair advantage for axis on this map). This goes back to the original argument then.

 

I have never once seen it accessed by a single jump. There might be a rare time that an explosion accidentally throws you up there. I have had explosions throw me to many cool places on a map in 10 years playing.

 

The question now, for those guys who are pro with TJ and double jump: is can a double jump get you up there? Then the final decision using double jump to High admins: Do we allow roof access on double jump servers?

I think first need to separate two things here. There is plain floor access on some maps where player can be seen and to be shoot and thats okay. But there is also places some maps where roofs are glitched and player can see other people trough walls and sometimes also player shoot from there. Those I have informed players not use those places for gaming purpose.

If you can access it with double jumping, it should be allowed. If you have to glitch the map, it should not be allowed. Just my 2 cents.

 

What is the advantage? In my opinion it is only hurting the allies because they now have players that are not able to heal and push for obj.

I not allow players to go roof (Adlernest). Because i think its more glitch thant wall jump/ touble jump. I asked confirmation to staff member. Ofcourse if we decide that its allow i let them go to roof. But what i understand its glitch.

The roof is pretty accesable w dble jump... and its there on the map.. So I really don't see it as a glitch..... I was catching a lot of flack from people yesterday saying I wasn't doing my job for not warning/kicking.... But I wanted clarification.... personally I don't care if they are on the roof or not... but if it all agreed that this is not allowed... that's How I will respond.... thanks all :)

If all players can have access to it, I think it's fair.

If only a selective group of players need a particular knowledge to reach certain spot not planned by the map developer, it's unfair.
