The last two games that Activision has put out in the COD series has flopped.  I think it is time we contacted them to

release updated or new maps for COD4.  It is still one of the top 3 games played online, and deserves to be updated.

What if we wrote a letter to Activision expressing our desires for new maps?  Maybe we can get other clans to do it also.

I am willing to start this thing off.  With top admins from all the clans expressing the views of their membership, it could

have an effect on their decision.

What do you say?

a brave idea, but im afraid they will not do it,

why? it doesnt earn them as much money as releasing a new game will.

and still they havent updated anything on cod4 for ages, the only new stuff you get is made by a person that does it for the game, not for activision.

Be better if you just opened an unranked moddable server. Then you have the ability to add custom maps and custom rule sets. Activision ain't gonna do shit because they only care about releasing the next clone. Not only that, but given the way they do things, you'll be paying $9.99 per map lol Save a couple bucks with a season pass amirite?

Honestly, custom maps are far better quality than a lot of official call of duty maps, so it would be better for people to open an unranked moddable server.

I would be in favor of converting one of our under used servers to a custom modded server, would even help ( though I don't have the slightest clue how to do it, would be willing to learn). It seems to me that it would benefit the clan more to recycle servers into some thing that would possibly boost membership than a server sitting idle all the time. That is if activison would not do anything ( which I agree with the above posts, I fear they would not. They seem to be unable to even release a complete game at one time let alone update a game they recycle every year anyway, would it be that hard to write code for across game use? wouldn't seem to from my point of view but again I am no coder. How ever they can seem to get away with charging $60 US for the carbon copy of last years game with ever so slightly modified textures and turn a huge profit and that is why I can't see them doing anything for us.

They will not ever invest large amounts of money in an old game.  They might work on an update if they found out there was a problem meaning they would get a bad name, but they certainly wont spend money on an old game otherwise.

From my assumed perspective of Activision: If you get bored of CoD4 maps, you will most likely try a new version of CoD which will earn them money, not lose them money.

If I recall correctly.

:noob I feel like an idiot, but I second what Killergun and Chimney said.

I have a server that I'm paying for but currently not using for anything. It's not a dedicated box, but I get good pings on it. I think it's located in Chicago. The only problem is that if you get more than 20 people on it, it can crash, but I would be willing to set it up and load some custom maps on it if the interest here is worth the effort. Just let me know.

wishful thinking but activision absolutely will never do anything to or for CoD4 again that won't cost a rediculous amount of money to use.

on that note there are plenty of high quality custom maps made specifically for competition that are balanced around snd but would work fine on tdm such as mp_cluster, mp_marketcenter, and mp_dahman
