The bassist who is playing with Jeff Beck is a really killin' player. I believe her name is Tal Wilkienfeld or something. Anyway, you could name it Tal.

 

 

Tal has her own album out where she plays more of her own stuff. Classic crowd response at the end of the solo, too. She plays all this cool melodic stuff over chord changes, and then at the end she plays the same lick over and over again, and THAT's when the crowd cheers.... lolz.

 

Also, Esperanza Spalding is a phenomenal female bassist. You could name it Esperanza (or Espera). She plays upright, too, which is pretty tricky to shred on, yet she does it.

 

Make no mistake, like jazz or not, she is an incredible player, easily... EASILY.. in the same league as peeps like Victor Wooten. She also can shred, but that's not really what she does. Plus she's cute.
