Don't have it, but researched the ASUS 290's and 290x's when I was upgrading ...

you can get a BETTER card for less money most likely

... the issue is the Heat pipes that cool the GPU, ASUS cheaped out here and reused the same heat sink assembly from the nVida 780 GTX cards as both cards have a similar design, HOWEVER, the GPU chips on the AMD card are smaller and ASUS never modified the heat pipes to cover the whole chip properly, meaning only 1 or 2 of the 4-5 heat pipes actually makes FULL contact with the chip, which means cooling isn't as good as it should be for what you're paying. The ASUS MATRIX 290x makes the same mistake and is even MORE money so stay away from that one too. MSI has a similar issue with their card as well, I don't suggest their 'Gaming' edition of the 290 or 290x either. The MSI LIGHTNING card is GREAT, but way over priced IMO.

The Shappire ( Tri-X or Vapor-X cards ) & PowerColor ( PCS+ card ) both make the BEST non-reference cooling 290 and 290x cards ! ... XFX 'Double Dissipation' and Gigabyte 'Windforce' cards are meh IMO, OK, but better than the ASUS and MSI cards this time around which sucks because usually ASUS and MSI make some of the better stuff on the market.  :dntk

Hey thanks for the Reply!

I looked at the powercolour version first as its what my old card was and it stayed cool, but people were reviewing that the fan was very noisey,

So your saying that the Sapphire one is the best for cooling?
