MaKys mum got bitten by a red back (black widow) when gardening. She said it was like giving birth all over again lol

Only tip I have is look under everything outside. Those buggers will hide in all holes, shoes anywhere they fit :)

It takes a man to admit that Ph0enix!

I also would be utterly terrified if I happened upon any spider... except a money spider, or a similar sized one.

Black Widow spiders are not all that bad unless it's female. I have bitten twice and got bad headache, severe pain at the bite with swelling but went away couple days later. The doctor here says it was male that got me,so no fear of death.

Yeah the females are the killers, and the easiest to recognise. They are the ones with the red on their backs, the male are just black. Make sure you look in everything though, Even if you leave a shoe outside, give it a shake before you put it on. They are sneaky. I found one on the side of the bath tub as I was bathing my kids.

Here in AUSTRALIA we have three most deadly spiders - 'Red-back', 'White-tail' and 'Funnel-web'.

The red-back is from the same family as the black-widow spider.
