Popular Post mraw435 Posted December 15, 2022 Popular Post Share Posted December 15, 2022 Been drinking coffee longer than ive been playing ET and consistently find myself being slightly distracted while playing a few maps making sure I don't knock over my mug of black coffee all over my keyboard. Over the last few years, I started venturing out to try different types of coffee rather than the classic Maxwell House or Folgers - and have also become quite a snob when it comes to a good espresso 😂 A few weeks ago, I decided to go one step further and start roasting my own coffee as a hobby (even though a friend of mine wants me to start it as a business lol). I bought a roaster, scale, grinder, and multiple bags of raw (green) coffee beans to get the hang of it. I set off all the smoke alarms in my place the first go, didnt get the heat high enough the 2nd batch (took an hour while it was suppose to take 20ish minutes lol), 3rd batch was getting there, and 4th batch I found out you can put too many beans in the roaster and scorch the hell out of the bottom beans! All said and done - enjoying the process and learning a lot as I go -- below are a few pics of the beans and I will see how long it takes me to get something im proud of! Anybody else a big fan of coffee?! I splurge on the weekends with the 'fancier' stuff - but maybe as i perfect my roasting, I will get to enjoy the finer coffees all week! Roasts 4 and 5 are coming up tomorrow while the roast I finished on thursday will be done degassing so I can try it --- fun fact, after roasting your beans, you need to let them sit in an air tight container (preferably with a CO2 output valve) as the beans go through multiple chemical transformations! But your own roast will be great. i also love a good coffee, i ve tried some from about everywhere (at least thoses i can find) . Lol i am usually the only one saying !coffee in main chat (my way of saying im getting my 5th+ cup of the day!) Lol i am usually the only one saying !coffee in main chat (my way of saying im getting my 5th+ cup of the day!) I worked as the barkeeper for a large mount of time and when i see or hear or smell something coffee, that's it, it drives me crazy 😄 And i run to make myself, i could drink 5 or more cups a day, especially at work So i just had to comment it!!! 😄 at mostly i drink coffee from a coffee machine Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
