Help! Can't connect to silent server anymore, but was fine a minute ago?

So everything was fine, playing as of 10 minutes ago. I go to check my console and it looks like this.

 

 

 

I'm like, ok thats not cool, so I'm going to restart.

 

Go to load back in, server is full.

 

Decide to load in again, but put /timescale 1000 to skip in line (if that still works)

 

Still no connection.

 

Restart the game, silent server is gone from the browser list, gone from my favorites list.

 

Cannot connect to it manually, it just stays at "awaiting challenge"

 

It's like the server is completely blocked from me now.

 

Anyone ever see this or know what I can do? I tried to do that pak cleaner and run admin mode, nothing yet.

Can you connect to any server other than that one?

 

The blocky chat is screaming gfx card issue, maybe lack of power but that could just be a coincidence.

 

Reboot PC/Laptop would be a good start and go from there mate and try and connect to other servers to make sure its a specific server issue.

Silent is up and running with players active so def not a server issue and i've connected fine so all your end mate, reboot and go from there.

I can connect to other servers.

 

I did restart PC & Internet.

 

I did a soft reinstall by not deleting or uninstalling anything, just re clicking the installer.exe to overwrite it (Legacy newest version)

 

When I did do the pak cleaner, i installed it in the legacy folder and it added all these "zzzzzzzzzzzzzz.pak3" files and changed my HUD on start up. Hopefully I did it right, but I didn't see a fix there.

 

The block chat, yeah idk, I did just install a new driver for my 1080 yesterday, but again was working all fine up until I did the "timescale 1000" command.

I see your using legacy, do you have 2.60b installed as well or just legacy? If you have 2.60b as well you can load that and see if you can connect through 2.60b instead.

 

You can try a few options,

 

First ping the server from cmd and see if it replies.

 

If so

 

Load ET and silent mod and then try \exec etconfig.cfg and then connect to see if that helps.

 

Or you can save your silent.dat key and any cfgs you use and then delete the entire silent folder completely, upon reconnecting it will download anything missing including silent mod if needed.

 

Try those let us know, can try other things then.

 

Is it possible given all the DDOS attacks you have been blocked by the server regarding the "timescale 1000".

yeesh, SOLVED
 needed to FULLY FULLY delete / uninstall. Then reinstall

 

Didn't want to have to do that, or last resort. But it worked.

Also, @Snuffs99 thank you so much for the quick response to help me solve this.  Just need to download all the maps over again, should have saved that folder

Yes, good things to keep as backup:

> Your ETkey

> Your working cfg 

> Your maps (though they can easily be downloaded again, but it’s faster with a backup)

I have that also once a day. After few maps it start like this. Reconnect allways fix it but when i am afk it will crush soon or later. Annoying - i have et in 3 pcs and allways happen in all of them

 

Alsi i have no problem with connecting atall

It seems odd that the text copied from the text-buffer to the playing-screen (+ flags) shows okay, but the text copied to the console-screen gets corrupted into simple blocks.  It is almost as if the text colors are being treated as background colors, but they don't really match.  

 

Perhaps you guys should report this issue to the ETLegacy development team.

2.60b doesnt work on my PC. So it is ETL or nothing. It is not perfect but it works.

I would be curious to understand ... from windows error log.. if u can share that. I personally never had the crash - unless, I screw up the config. 

 

I do got the timeout though - because PC goes in standby...

I dont think config is the reason since I use it only in “main PC”. On others its default settings(spec). But yeah if you want I can check it up and sent laters.

vid_restart fixes it everytime for me

 

 

 

 

ET_legacy glitch nothing to do with config as i run stock ETlegacy config. If not running ETlegacy its the server side config thats been updated.
