Could we maybe add to or alter the server title, obviously depending on character count? its currently F|A ET:LEGACY but maybe something along the lines of say "F|A ET:LEGACY NO lvls NO xpsave ONLY skills"???

I could see a few seeing that sort of server and wanting to give it a try out of curiosity or maybe just to test their own "skills" sort of thing.

 

Bit of bait in the title?

Just FYI: my death spree post was inside joke for ETL server regulars. ;)

Yeah, the bigest fun is when, despite the difficulties, somehow my team manage to win or at least achieve goals that I set for myself.

I agree with @Lt Steiner.  I have very fond memories of the old House of Pain server where it had 6 map campaigns that saved xp.  At the end of the campaign, xp reset.  I would be ok with xp save if it didnt save forever and reset pretty frequently.  I really hope we don't end up with another server where everyone has maxed out classes permanently.  The vast majority of maps just weren't designed for it, such as a team of maxed out fdops or every engi having a flak jacket.   just my two cents.  I have yet to catch a good group on the server but look forward to it!

The server doesn't seem to store stats/stars/skills of each class, right (things like better weapon handling, kill with 1 backstab for covops stuff like that)? That's kinda uncomfortable...

Yes, you are right. After Beg2 it was not easy to adapt, but I got it in 2-3 days, maybe a little more.
By the way, one stab in the back works for all classes, but you have to be pretty close to the backpack of the character you want to stab.

Tram2: shorter version of mp_tram (2nd half of the map) with more paths and slightly different layout and a new objective/transmitter location

Sub2: bigger version of mp_sub with wider hallways and more paths to attack from, much larger Submarine room quite fun for public

Rocket2: quality of life improvement for mp_rocket... kind of a niche map its never been well received in the past in both RTCW and ET but this rework fixes a lot of its major issues

Friendly reminder this is a place to discuss changes regarding gameplay settings on Legacy servers. Thanks for every suggestion via PM but we won't touch anything gameplay related (bots, amount of guns, grenades, power of guns etc) unless it will be discussed and accepted by majority of regulars. We don't want a situation where we make 1 person happy and another 10 is left unhappy about a change. In the end if 10 people will play, 11th will join even if doesn't like some setting and unfortunately it doesn't work other way around.

This is MY OPINION, no need to do exactly what I'm saying, feedback is welcome.

  • Extend spawn times according to the number of players, 14 - 20, 16 - 22,  18 - 24 or something like that. Maybe a couple of maps with default spawntimes, that would be cool.
  • Remove heavy weapons and riflenade for less than 10 players.
  • Enable next map vote for admins.
  • Engieneers start with 4 hand grenades and 4 grenades at launcher.
  • Allow /rate 90000.
  • Allow com_maxfps up to 333.
  • Update to new legacy version (2.83.1). 
  • Remove skill upgrades for purefrag and spam (no nades, no heavy weapons) and force medic or fdops class 
  • How about reducing arty cooldown but allow only level 2 skill for fdop.

No. Part of the game. 5vs5 and no rnade or panzer? Both teams can use both.

No. Why we suddenly changing the base game after 20 years? (Or was it original 4 nades, 4rnades?)
Then we should remove regen from medics.

Is this for the map purefrag? Why force a classe? What if someone wants full Sten war. Had that one time, was pretty fun.

Do you mean fdop have max 2 level skill?
The best thing would be to reset ALL skills after 6 maps like a nomral campaign.


Just my feedback to it. The rest I agree with.
