DarthMojo
This was the first tattoo I got. I did if after my mom got sick with cancer back in 2007. is a Japanese Buddhist term for awakening, "comprehension; understanding". It is derived from the Japanese verb satoru. In the Zen Buddhist tradition, satori refers to the experience of kenshō, "seeing into one's true nature".

Thank you. My mom recovered and has been cancer free since 2008. It was a dark time but there was light, the tattoo reminds me of the light. Peace. 1

TheFriendlyVEGAN
I've got 28 tattoos (most of them small), so it's hard to pick one. I have a soft spot for whales and cetaceans, and I absolutely adore cats. The whale tail, cat, semi-colon and valknut I did by hand-poke (some other too, but these turned out best). So I'm proud that I did do them myself. My tattoo-artist offered to go over them, and I find it hard to say no, so most traces of my own work are gone now (this inability to say 'no' sucks because I have a tattoo of the contours of Iceland, a country I love, but it's on the back of my arm due to the suggestion of the tattoo-artist and most of the time I forget it even exists, and I hate it. I love the tattoo, but I hate the location). Anyway, the whale tail is the first one I did myself and because of my love for cetaceans, it's probably my favorite. As for meaning, the semi-colon is a "cliché"-tattoo for people struggling with mental illnesses and suicidal thoughts. After my last attempt, I chose that tattoo. I also wanted many tattoos on my wrists because I "like" to cut and scratch myself and my left wrist is sort of like my favorite position, but I won't go through a tattoo. So in an attempt to cut and scratch less, I try to get tattoos there. It helps a little, as I now mainly just scratch and go in between the tattoos. The dead tree in my hand: I wanted a hand tattoo for a long time, something that is dear to me that I could close off by closing my fist, and thus "protect from the cruel, harsh world". Trees, nature, calm my loud mind, so the choice for a tree was simple. I chose a dead tree because of my desire for death and how there is beauty in dead trees. I try to only get tattoos with meaning. My first tattoo was a tribal dragon and is probably the only one without meaning, I wanted a tattoo and just chose one from the book the tattoo artist had in his studio, although it could symbolize how naive I was and am. I've got another dragon; an angel; the vegan logo; a short text in Nordic runes; a word in Elven letters; moonglyphs; a bow and arrow; a larger piece with a tree, two ravens, a vegvisir and Nordic runes; a celtic cross; another Viking-symbol; ... And there's plans for so many more, mainly nature-themed, fantasy-themed, viking-themed, sci-fi-themed. I hate my body, so I want to cover it up with tattoos, so that I will end up not hating it anymore.
Snuffs99
I don't have one personally but my Daughter has wanted a family of 3 Giraffes since she was about 10 (to represent me, her mum and herself). Long story short she turned 18 in November 2020 so as soon as lock down was released enough for her to have it done she finally did it. Picture isn't that great and makes it look like they are huge but the biggest one is probably about 12cm 2 1 1
