4C1D Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Who of you all do alpine wintersports?? If, then show us some pics xD I do snowboarding but i want learning to ski this year (Wether we get some snow ) Quote
RoosterCogburn Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I prefer snowboarding, but I am not so great at it. The only broken bone I have ever gotten is from snowboarding. Quote
Saizou Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 Skiing only, it's only a few days in winter during the break. I'd like to try out snowboard one day. Quote
SjaaKTreKHaaK Posted February 20, 2011 Posted February 20, 2011 I just heard that a friend received two days after holiday in Austria, he was badly ended by an jump, His holiday flies away Quote
Matty_c Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Snowboarding for me. I've been doing it for about 8 years now. Quote
NoGooD Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I enjoy both for different reasons. If it's icy or I have alot of terrain to traverse, I'll opt for skis. If it's steep, powder or large jumps I prefer snowboarding. I've only recently started skiing on occasion. I've been snowboarding since 89/90. I don't have any recent pics of me actually riding. Myself, or anyone I ride with won't stop for someone to set up on a jump. I'd rather ride. If anyone is wondering what the recent riding conditions were like @ Lake Tahoe this past weekend...heres what it looked like. These are the stairs to the condo This was a truck after 2 days worth of storms This was a old truck that was parked prior to the storms. Shitty pic of my goggles taken with my phone If anyone in on the F|A forums has a splitboard...I'd be interested in their opinion. I'm tempted to get one since I'm leaning more towards back-country riding over resort riding these days. Quote
Administrators JoeDirt Posted February 22, 2011 Administrators Posted February 22, 2011 Skiing all the way. I snowboard as well but I am not a snowboardfag. Snowboardfag is a person that takes forever to get on the lift, falls down when getting off, and has no consideration for other people on the run. Quote
sicsiksix Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 I started out on skis, but switched over to snowboard about 10 years ago. Can't get enough of it. Now if only I didn't live in Wisconsin.... Me in Colorado (at Eldora) a few weeks ago: Quote
4C1D Posted February 24, 2011 Author Posted February 24, 2011 i wish we have so much snow like in lake Tahoe sp skieers and boarders in F|A now even we need more voters Quote
NoGooD Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 Yeah man, well my Canadian homies to the north are likely not loving it up in British Columbia. There's a very cold storm coming down the western coast thats supposed to drop another 4-7 (~1-2 meters) feet of snow around the Lake Tahoe area and even bring snow to much lower elevations, like possibly San Fransisco and Sacramento. Likely it won't, but the news sure like to hype it up. Prime avalanche time though for backcountry riding. Quote
4C1D Posted February 25, 2011 Author Posted February 25, 2011 lol today we had 5cm new snow in the Bavarian Alps Quote
ISCHWARS Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 i am a snowball fight pro! does that count? Quote
Raziel Posted February 25, 2011 Posted February 25, 2011 i am a snowball fight pro! does that count? Not if you throw snowballs like you play ET. Then I wouldn't exactly call it "pro". Rather...well make up your mind Quote
