The highlight of the Xbox Games Showcase was Starfield. Looks ambitious in scope, potential, and gameplay experience. Can't wait to dive into this massive world!

Story: Aloy travels to The Cut, the home of the Banuk Tribe after hearing of dangerous machines appearing. she learns from local chieftain Aratak that the Banuk have been attempting to battle a Daemon on the mountain Thunder's Drum, which is apparently the cause of the machines in the area attacking the Banuk. Aloy challenges Aratak, but daemonic machines ambush them in the final stretch of the challenge. They team up to fight off the machines, and impressed by Aloy's skills, Aratak concedes leadership to her. Aloy, Ourea(Aratak sister) and Aratak head for Thunder's Drum. They infiltrate the Old World facility built inside the mountain where Aloy discovers that the Spirit is actually CYAN, a highly advanced AI designed to prevent the Yellowstone Caldera from erupting. Side-quests: In this part of the game you can discover a lot of interesting quests like saving someone from being exiled, new modifications for your outfits and also for your weapons. I suggest to complete all the side-quests here because you have nothing to lose + you also uncover a lot of mysteries and interesting stories. AAAAAAAND AWESOME CHARACTER MODEEEELIINGG 😄 :

This review contains NO SPOILERS so feel free to read. Game was played on PC. Story: Aloy was cast out from the Nora(a tribe) and raised by an outcast named Rost. As a child she discovered a "cave" with a lot of devices built by the Old Ones, where she finds a Focus - a small AR device that helps her special perceptive abilities. After coming of age, she trains a lot to win the Proving, a competition to win the right of becoming a Nora Brave and therefore a member of the tribe. During the Proving competition Nora's are attacked by the cultists. When Aloy awakes, Teersa, one of the Matriarch, explains that the cultists had gained control of corrupted machines. Aloy learns that she is an infant found near a sealed door. Aloy locates the remnants of the company Faro Automated Solutions and discovers that the old world was destroyed nearly 1,000 years ago after Faro lost control of its automated Peacekeeper military robots. After some time Aloy get in touch with Sylens to find out what happened with the Old Ones and how she was borned. Aloy eventually learns that "her mother" was sent to an Oribital Launch Base to complete the Project: Zero Dawn located at the Citadel the centre of Eclipse power. Aloy heads for the base and inside, she finds out that Zero Dawn was a vast underground system of databases, factories, and cloning facilities controlled by a single artificial intelligence, GAIA. Once all life had been extinguished, GAIA developed a countermeasure to deactivate all of the Faro robots and build its own robots to restore the Earth's biosphere. Once the planet was habitable again, GAIA reseeded life on Earth based on stored DNA and taught the first human clones not to repeat their predecessors' past mistakes. Gameplay: Here it becomes very interesting because, like any other RPG, it is full of possibilities. Many side-quests have interesting stories, some are super funny. Upgrade systems, a vast world with a lot of activities, many weapons with a variety of arsenal, armor, fast travel and many other things that can be collected/bought. (I'll let the screenshots speak for themselves.) Graphics look absolutely astonishing. Character models are well made as well. I like the way the Decima Engine perceives sunlight and moonlight, developers did a very good job. On the other hand, the game was launched on PC with a little scandal considering the optimization. Sometimes it happened to me to see a lot of wasted textures for no reason, enemies stuck and so on. But Guerilla (developers) listened to the community and fixed most of the bugs. The game is 100% playable so no worries. Combat: The game leaves you the choice of how you want the action to unfold. You can go stealth or direct rambo. Regardless of your choice, there is no wrong decision. With a well-developed arsenal you can wreak havoc. Using Focus you can see the weaknesses of the enemies. You have a lot of bombs, bows, spears, tripwires, weapons to choose from. Everything can be modified. The decision is yours. Thank you for reading my review. If you have any questions feel free to ask.

For all of those who play RPG's (MMO or not) and would like to showcase your characters, here you go! I know one of the things I love about RPG's from the Runescape days of early 2000's, through to The Elder Scrolls series, Warcraft, and others is the ability to create amazing characters. Here's my latest creation, who's amazed that she's featured here on Fearless Assassins! I look forward to seeing what everyone here has created, and how your characters shine under the glorious computer generated sun.

My wife is currently playing runescape. I honestly am a diablo person but she would be a good fit for the community. Just gotta find the right game to get her on. She plays ET but not like back in the day.

I've seen topics about what people's first online game was... but never anything about MMOs oddly enough. Let's change that. So, to all of the adventurers, elves, mages, orcs, and wizards out there... what was the first MMORPG that you played? How did it affect you? Do you still play it? My answer is probably going to be one of the more boring/typical ones... The first MMO I played was Runescape. It was still pretty new and at the time, my family didn't have internet access so I was limited to going to the library or playing at school. I couldn't play any games online except for what would run in a browser (Netscape woo! ). I discovered it by walking past some computers and seeing this 20-something guy who smelled like he drank for a living playing a (what I thought at the time) impossibly immersive game. And it started from there. I'd say it completely changed what I looked for in games and believe it or not, helped me interact with people (I've always been shy). A few years later, when my classmates were playing club penguin and trying to talk about sex while avoiding the autoban censor, I was busy slaying my way through dungeons and running quests. Told a few friends about what I played, and ended up eventually converting the entire class into Runescape players. I don't play it anymore (hell, I don't know whether I can even access my old account- it was on a msn email), but it started my foray into online gaming and I met some great people on there. And I can honestly say that without playing Runescape, It's possible I never would've really "gotten" into roleplaying games much at all. Damn, would I have missed out. Nowadays I play more modern and immersive Korean MMOs. Primarily Black Desert Online and infrequently (though I used to play all the time) TERA. I find it's a great way to get away from a stressful day, find adventures when I can't afford many travels, and meet wonderful people like you folks. Feel free to post your adventures and ask questions about mine. I hope to hear about your travels and turn this into an epic thread of many tales with your help! Cheers, and may you drink many pints of ale over a warm fire. An unrelated basic game timeline that lead me to FA:

You had me at 'Thief-inspired', isometric RPG Seven, but 'ex-Witcher 3 devs' pretty much seals the deal. As Phil explained last year, Seven is a game set in a "non-linear sandbox world", where you'll run and jump and climb and sneak and all the other things mysterious travellers sometimes get up to in post-apocalyptic worlds. Sorry, in "beyond post-apocalyptic" worlds, which I guess is shorthand for 'has fantasy elements too'. The first trailer for Seven has emerged, via IGN, and it's a doozy, presenting some lovely isometric environments seemingly full of detail and life, interrupted occasionally by flying robo-tentacle monsters. How like life. I particularly like the parkour element—you'll bound across rooftops and pipes, and slide down ropes, in your quest to...well, I've no idea, as developer Fool's Theory hasn't revealed much about the plot. There's no firm release date for Seven yet, other than what Phil learned last year (publisher IMGN.PRO reckoned then that it would be done by the second half of 2016), but you can find out a bit more about the game from its official site. Following its release in Japan last month, From Software's Dark Souls III launches today, April 12, in the west for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. Now, publisher Bandai Namco has put out a powerful launch trailer for the highly anticipated role-playing game, showcasing some of its environments and enemies. Bandai Namco notes in the video's description that it contains some spoilers, so be warned. Check it out above. The song used in the video is Hozier's "In The Woods Somewhere." In other news about Dark Souls III, PC players are reporting that the game is crashing early on, blocking them from progressing further. Check out this post to see everything we know about the bug so far. GameSpot's Dark Souls III review awarded the sequel 8/10. "There are several possible endings to Dark Souls III, and although most are anticlimactic, they drive home the loneliness of the paths we took," reviewer Mike Mahardy said. "The old lords have abandoned their posts, and in the hunt to usurp them, we descend into those dark valleys, and climb those imposing peaks. This is the essence of Dark Souls III: periods of doubt, followed by great reward. The journey may be rocky, but there's a throne waiting at the end." Project Gorgon Hey guys, Wondering if anyone wants to try out Project Gorgon with me. It is a mmo kinda like runescape but in real time (that is the best way to describe it). Just downloading it now, it is free to play and is in the alpha stage. http://projectgorgon.com/game/play-now <--- Download ! The graphics are not the high points of it but I think it is worth a shot. For those who don't have the worlds greatest computer, I am sure you could run it too

The time they are putting this in is going to be big! 2 years now into the game, coming out this year! Cannot wait! We can do are own police dept. too.

Name: Torchlight II Type: RPG Cost: Honestly don't know. VIggy bought it for me. Never have played Torchlight, the original, I was weary that I would not enjoy this game. It sounded lame, devoid of promise and action, lackluster in the realm of adventure and fps, etc. I'm sure I could come up with more reasons and excuses not to play. Yet played I did. And with not internet this game soon became my friend. I'd play for hours delving into changing my pet into other creatures, enchanting my weapons and in general being a badass killing stuff. And as the hours progressed the more I enjoyed the game and picked up on the little nuances that were slighted. For example there was a reference in one part of the map to Silence of the Lambs, in which you place a bottle in a bucket and lower into a pit. Rewards?! By all means, gold rained from the skies. Who knew that being a pyscho killer for a second could reap such rewards. The game is pretty basic. It harnesses the general controls of a,w,s,d, ctrl, space. You start your game on a quest to find the Alchemist and regain control of the spirit gods (in a sense) with challenges and fights more epic along the way. As with all games you level up, eventually reaching the maximum level of 100. Which is unfortunate, because you just want to keep playing and playing, leveling up and becoming more powerful. Along the way you encounter bosses and mega-bosses, reaping rewards by the plenty. But what do you do with so many goodies? How do you decide what to use and what to sell? Well that's the beauty of the game. You have to be strategic; you have to learn what works best for you. Did I mention you get to choose between four characters all with their own specialty. You have the Embermage, whose strength lies in spells and use of wands and staffs. The Engineer, whose expertise of swords and large manual weapons can kill foes easily. The Berserker, who is just downright crazy calling upon the spirit of the wolf to bring down his enemies. Lastly, but not least, there is the Outlander who finds solace in bringing down foes with projectile weapons (guns, bows, you know). With these charcaters you develop skill trees, spells, and specials. Certain armor and weapons can only be used by your class, and in general get better and better as you go along. There are many types of weapons, from the basic to rare. Many weapons have the ability to insert gems or socketables, which give it special features, like calling dead foes forth to fight for you or rain acid and fire. As you progress through the game you really have to decide what to do, what to wear, what powers to harness. etc. But enough yimmer-yamering. Buy the game and experience the thrill for yourself. Pros: - Maps are large to allow for exploration and often times have hidden quests and rooms that allow for more loot and experience. - The Phase Beast offers challenges that usually generate large rewards. - The option of sharing items between all characters is a plus. Or you can be greedy and keep them for yourself. - You get a pet, who often times is more powerful then you, which helps in boss fights. - Depending on your class, when you die you don't have to start over. - There is multiplayer. - When you finish you have the option of starting over and over or go to mapworks. Cons: - Maps are large, so if you die, expect to walk all the way back. And you will die, many times. - You have to read what your armor, fish and weapons do. Sometimes they can kill you. - Bosses are generally easy to beat. - There are no extra levels past 100 so you have to really think about what skills you want to max. I'd give this a 9 out of 10.

Diablo 3 awarding double experience points for the holidays
-=NeO=- posted a topic in Gamer's Garage
Need something to do during the pre-New Year lull? Blizzard is offering a 100 percent experience point bonus to all Diablo 3 players who log in between now and midnight on December 29. The deal actually went live on December 25, but none of us were around to notice it until now. Fortunately, there's still plenty of time to get in on the action. "All nephalem who log into Diablo III this weekend on any platform* will receive a +100% bonus to experience gain," Blizzard wrote on Battle.net. "As with previous buffs, the bonus provided will stack multiplicatively with other existing bonuses, including those provided by items, shrines, Pools of Reflection, and Paragon points." The asterisk donates the one little catch, although it doesn't apply to us: On consoles, the buff only applies to the Ultimate Evil Edition. The 100 percent experience bonus offer runs until 11:59 pm PST on December 29. -
Hey guys, I have a quick question about a area in my generated world. So I was mining one day under my house, and I came across a crimson altar: But when I first came across it, this eerie music was playing. The start of the loop sounded almost like a Mario Bro's Egypt/Pyramid region. Then as I mine into the stone and sand, the blocks are dealing me damage as I mine them. I understand that the crimson altar means that I'm standing in an area that's supposed to be underground crimson... I presume that seed would activate once Hard Mode is triggered. Anyways, I searched for this region, blocks that deal damage (and no, not sand falling on my head ), and listening through the OST for that music... couldn't find it. So I appreciate any help or advice you kind folks out there might have. Thank you.

Hey guys, I've been playing Vanilla Skyrim for quite awhile now, and I'm thinking it's time to try some new things. I have some experience modding Bethesda games; Fallout NV to be exact- though I do plan on using NMM simply for convenience. Obvious there's going to be some fundamentals, such as SKSE, and SkyUI... but if anybody has some ENB suggestions, or mods that add on the story/experience of Skyrim, new dialogue, etc. let me know. Thanks guys!

Assassins Creed: Brotherhood Rating: 9.5/10 Game Type: RPG, Action, Adventure, FPS Price: $20 reg/ $5 on sale Summary: "Desmond and his allies retreat to the ruins of the Monteriggioni villa, and Desmond reenters the Animus to continue Ezio's memories, specifically to identify the location of the Apple. After facing against Rodrigo Borgia, Ezio returned to Monteriggioni, but the villa is soon attacked by forces under the command of Cesare Borgia, Rodrigo's son. Mario is killed and the Apple is stolen. Ezio vows revenge by helping to free the people of Rome from the Borgia family. As Ezio works covertly to turn the city against the Borgias, he gains followers that want to join his cause, and Ezio trains them in the way of the Assassins. In an attempt to assassinate Cesare and Rodrigo at the Castel Sant'Angelo, Ezio instead witnesses Cesare forcing his father to eat a poisoned apple that Rodrigo had prepared to kill his son. Ezio chases down Cesare and eventually captures him and recovers the Apple. Cesare is taken to prison in Viana, Spain but manages to escape with help of his allies. The Assassins lead the fight against Cesare and the remaining loyal Borgia troops, and eventually Ezio throws Cesare from the castle walls, killing him. With no perceived further threats, Ezio takes to hide the Apple under the Colosseum. In the present, Desmond is able to navigate through the underground chambers beneath the Colosseum to locate the Apple. As he picks it up, Desmond is witness to another hologram figure, calling herself Juno, and who controls Desmond to stab Lucy (because Lucy has defected to the Templars) before he falls into a coma. " Link Pros: - This was the first AC game that I played. The story line, characters and options are all great and outstanding. - The variety in weapons and methods of kill are phenomenal. - The graphics and 3d rendering are not 100% but for the second game in the franchise they stand out way better then most. - I like the option to save citizens and invite them to the Brotherhood. This allows for better combat, strategy and you can assign them to other posts and missions to gain money and xp. - The free world roaming was great, so after you complete the storyline you have the option to complete side objectives or go on a killing spree. - There was never a shortage of Borgia or missions. The missions weren't short like some games nor were they trivial. It requires the player to think about access and methods. Cons: - As you play Ezio through the Animus it can be quite touchy. So if you want to get to a specific mission to replay or look at stats, it's very hard to control the Animus and you spend a lot of time trying to select missions, stats etc. - The horse movement is very spotty. Sometimes it's hard to jump or hold still. When fighing Borgia on horses, they are too overpowered and can easily kill, whether you are on foot or on horse. - This was the first game in the Franchise that opened up a multiplayer option. Being as it was the first, I cannot beat on it too bad. However these were the things that they could improve: There was no autobalance in skill or players. You could be pitted against level 10 assasins. Although you were allowed the option to pick your character, there were guaranteed to be 20 or more characters the same. Either they were other players or bots, but this made it difficult to track anyone. I think there was only one game type, marked for death. I would have loved to see other game types or maybe campaign mp.
