  1. Now we've got a glimpse of what it's looking like, thanks to the trailer above. Yep, those are certainly some old school ghouls. Plenty of locations familiar from Fallout 3 are visible behind the exploding ghouls, like the Metro Tunnels and Megaton, and fondly remembered outfits like the Vault armor and various bits of raider and merc fashion are visible too. he Capital Wasteland mod had to be delayed for legal reasons, with the team learning they'd have to re-record all of the original game's audio rather than being able to import it directly across. According to the mod team, "Well after finding some incredibly talented people we have decided to attempt re-voicing the game, Other audio such as music will have to wait till such a time as we have people capable of dealing with it." Fingers crossed they don't hit any more significant hurdles. Source https://www.pcgamer.com/watch-a-new-trailer-for-fallout-capital-wasteland/
  2. The rumors were correct: the next Call of Duty game is called Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, and it's a "re-imagining" of the Modern Warfare sub-franchise. Infinity Ward, developer of the original Call of Duty and a half-dozen other games in the series, is developing the game along with support from Raven Software and Beenox. Check out the announcement trailer above. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, will launch on October 25, 2019. I attended a presentation at Infinity Ward's studio in southern California earlier this month, where details about the singleplayer campaign (yes, it has one) were revealed, along with a look at some of the tech behind the game. The re-imagined Modern Warfare aims to present players with the "uncomfortable realities of war" and stories that feel "ripped from the headlines." You'll play not only as special forces soldiers but as low-tech "rebel freedom fighters" who use improvised weapons and guerrilla tactics. A number of characters from earlier games in the series, such as Captain Price, will return as well. You can read my impressions of what I saw of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare singleplayer campaign here. Modern Warfare plans to support cross-platform play, and will not contain a season pass. In addition to the singleplayer campaign and classic multiplayer modes, it will also feature co-op missions. Modern Warfare is a Battle.net exclusive, like Call of Duty: Black Ops 4. There are three options to choose from: the $60 standard edition, the $80 operator edition (with premium digital items) and a $100 operator enhanced edition (which includes the digital items plus includes 3,000 Call of Duty points). 5. I've seen topics about what people's first online game was... but never anything about MMOs oddly enough. Let's change that. So, to all of the adventurers, elves, mages, orcs, and wizards out there... what was the first MMORPG that you played? How did it affect you? Do you still play it? My answer is probably going to be one of the more boring/typical ones... The first MMO I played was Runescape. It was still pretty new and at the time, my family didn't have internet access so I was limited to going to the library or playing at school. I couldn't play any games online except for what would run in a browser (Netscape woo! ). I discovered it by walking past some computers and seeing this 20-something guy who smelled like he drank for a living playing a (what I thought at the time) impossibly immersive game. And it started from there. I'd say it completely changed what I looked for in games and believe it or not, helped me interact with people (I've always been shy). A few years later, when my classmates were playing club penguin and trying to talk about sex while avoiding the autoban censor, I was busy slaying my way through dungeons and running quests. Told a few friends about what I played, and ended up eventually converting the entire class into Runescape players. I don't play it anymore (hell, I don't know whether I can even access my old account- it was on a msn email), but it started my foray into online gaming and I met some great people on there. And I can honestly say that without playing Runescape, It's possible I never would've really "gotten" into roleplaying games much at all. Damn, would I have missed out. Nowadays I play more modern and immersive Korean MMOs. Primarily Black Desert Online and infrequently (though I used to play all the time) TERA. I find it's a great way to get away from a stressful day, find adventures when I can't afford many travels, and meet wonderful people like you folks. Feel free to post your adventures and ask questions about mine. I hope to hear about your travels and turn this into an epic thread of many tales with your help! Cheers, and may you drink many pints of ale over a warm fire. An unrelated basic game timeline that lead me to FA:

  7. I love art. All sorts of art! And much of the art in my life is inspired by video games... I guess it always has been. ^.^ One of my favourite things to do, especially in open world games... is to explore the world and find neat places to capture screenshots. I've taken hundreds of SS over the years, and many of them are more in the last couple of years thanks to GTA V... The game has its own built in editor that allows you to make videos and take really great screencaps of in game footage. The feature is very popular and has spawned a community dedicated to sharing these screencaps. It seems like other new games are slowly doing this as well. Or giving you more option to turn off the HUD to capture beautiful imagery of the world you play in... Which is really great for people that enjoy the miniature hobby. Sooooo.. after I noticed that the Screenshot tag goes unused in the art/gfx section... I thought it may be fun to make this thread! I dunno how many would be interested in this sort of thing, but it's worth a shot! ^.^ Going to stop rambling now... and post a couple to start off. :3 Small request... please don't post pics of game scores. Wanted to keep this more for the artsy oriented screenies. <3 The Secret World Black Desert Online GTA V

  11. Housemarque, the guys who brought us some brilliant PlayStation games like Resogun and Dead Nation, are bringing us their newest title- it’s called Alienation, and it looks pretty cool. And today, they shared a brand new trailer for the title. The trailer shows us a fair bit of footage from the game, as well as introducing us to the game’s co-op mode, and the playable classes. The co-op mode can support up to four players, and there are three different playable classes. The game can be played single player as well, but Housemarque says that it has been designed for a co-op experience, and it is best experienced that way. So, you guys need to go out and make yourselves some friends, then. Alienation launches exclusively on the PlayStation 4 on April 26. You can pre-order it now, and get 10% off. This information was posted today on the Ubisoft blog. At least 4 GB of RAM is required to run Far Cry Primal, while you'll also need a 64-bit operating system and Windows 7, 8.1, or 10. You can see the minimum and recommended Far Cry Primal specs below. In other news about Far Cry Primal, Ubisoft held a livestream today dedicated to the game. During the broadcast, Ubisoft confirmed that you'll have the option to remove the HUD. This will provide an extra-difficult challenge, developers said, especially in areas where you need to use stealth. Far Cry Primal arrives February 23 on Xbox One and PlayStation 4, while the PC edition debuts March 1. At the end of the livestream today, developers teased that Ubisoft will make some exciting announcements next week about the game, though no other details were divulged. 14. The 2015 Steam Winter Sale has begun. As earlier reports indicated, the sale period started today, December 22, and will run for two weeks through January 4. In a news release, Valve said there will be discounts on "thousands of games and software." You can also collect Winter Sale-themed trading cards only available during the sale period. Some good deals include The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim for $5, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt for $30, Ark: Survival Evolved for $18, and Rocket League for $14. In addition, Valve is introducing the first-ever Steam Sale comic, called "Gingerbread Jake In: North Pole Noir." A new page from the comic will be revealed every day during the sale. Like the Fall sale before it, it looks like the Steam Winter sale won't include rotating daily deals--that means what's on offer now may be all you'll see for the duration of the sale. 15. Valve has finally detailed update 6.86 for Dota 2, following reported leaks earlier this week. Dubbed 'The Balance of Power' update, it ushers in the Arc Warden, a hero you might remember from the original Dota. He's finally made the jump to Dota 2, and as the image above demonstrates, he wields energy in a variety of ways: he can build energy barriers for defence, and even summon duplicates to help out on the field. The Arc Warden is only a small part of what's new in the patch, though. There'sew desert skin and map for Custom games, as well as a host of tweaks to the main competitive map. These include new camps and paths which "may determine whether your return to the fountain is by means of teleportation or from beyond the veil of the dead", according to the patch blog. There's a host of new items, tweaks and graphics options, and there are new stats available in the client as well. Check out the full notes here, and stay tuned for some analysis of the patch in coming days. Source http://www.pcgamer.com/dota-2-balance-of-power-update-brings-new-hero-items-and-more/

  17. Halloween is (nearly) upon us. What better time to play Dragon Age: Inquisition, Battlefield Hardline, The Sims 4, and other games EA has discounted seemingly at random for its Halloween sale. Sorry, it's Zomboss Invasion sale, in which the baddie from Plants vs Zombies has slashed the prices on loads of EA's best games. There is some Halloween-themed stuff in there, including the Dead Spaces, Alice: Madness Returns, and The Sims 4: Spooky Stuff, but mainly this is your opportunity to buy all the Dragon Ages, Mass Effects, and many of the Battlefields for cheap. DA: Inquisition for £14.99! Battlefield Hardline for £16.66! Those seem like good prices. And there's some non-EA stuff in there too, including Tomb Raider, and The Witcher 2, for £4.49 apiece. Also, from the sale page: EA's Theme Hospital is free. It's not clear if it's still free from January, or whether it's gone free again to join current On The House freebie Red Alert 2, but free is free. Source http://www.pcgamer.com/
  18. Earlier this year Acer released the best gaming monitor on the planet, the first 144Hz model to use a beautiful IPS screen. The 27-inch, 2560x1440 G-Sync monitor replaced the Asus RoG Swift as our favorite thanks to its superior IPS screen. Well, Asus has finally fired back, releasing the anticipated PG279Q that we first saw at Computex in June with an IPS screen and up to 165Hz refresh. How do they compare? TFT Central has performed an extensive review of the new monitor, and we’ve pulled out some of the highlights. The PG279Q still has the 27-inch display with a 2560x1440 resolution, with a response time of 4ms. It also has a refresh rate of 144Hz which is overclockable up to 165Hz. It has a DisplayPort 1.2a, and a 1.4 HDMI port, as well as two USB 3.0 ports. Aesthetically, the PG279Q is pretty much the same as the PG278Q RoG Swift, with a “frameless” design that only gives you a total frame border of 10mm. TFT Central says the base is sturdy, and it has a pretty circular light around the stand connection as well as a lit up ROG Swift logo off to the side. From all sides the PG279Q looks thin, and stylish. The on-screen display menu includes a “GamePlus” quick access menu, which has options for cross-hairs, a timer, and a frames per second counter. The OSD also features an option to turn on overclocking. In addition, there’s a Turbo button to allow you to switch between 60, 120, and 144Hz refresh rates, or whatever you’ve overclocked it to. However you will need an Nvidia GTX960 or better to actually use overclocking. The calibration performance tests came out with a 2.3 default average gamma, (4 percent deviance from 2.2) a default white point of 6206k (5 percent deviance from 6500k). Pretty good when compared with the competing Acer XB270HU which has a deviance of 9 percent and 6 percent respectively. It also has a better default DeltaE average of 1.1 compared to the XB270HU’s 1.9. They each have the same calibrated black depth of 0.12cd/m^2, and a very similar calibrated DeltaE average, with 0.3 for the Asus monitor, and 0.4 for the Acer. As for calibrated contrast ratio, the Asus has 989:1, while the Acer has 1000:1. Thanks to the IPS panel, the viewing angles of the PG279Q were good, with minimal color tone shift until you get past about a 45 degree angle. Only a slight darkening occurs horizontally from wider angles, with contrast shifts occurring more noticeably in the vertical field. The PG279Q has a similar level of “IPS-glow” to the Acer XB270HU when looking at a black image, which is mostly inherent to the technology. As for gaming, the PG279Q offers G-Sync and has a ULMB blur-reduction backlight system. However the two can’t be used in conjunction since ULMB won’t work with G-Sync’s variable refresh rate. At the moment, Nvidia’s 3D Vision is not supported, so you’ll be better off sticking with the PG278Q if you’re looking at using 3D. TFT Central tested input lag, and the screen only showed a total lag of 3.25ms, the majority of which can be put down to pixel response times. So the conclusion is that the monitor should be fine for all gaming. Up at 144Hz, the response time gets as low as 5.2ms, which is faster than the Acer XB270HU which had an average of 5.9ms at 144Hz. These results were found using the monitor’s Overdrive mode. When OD was turned off, the response times were much slower, and there was more blurring on moving images. When overclocked, the PG279Q didn’t drop any frames at its maximum 165Hz refresh rate, however the response times at the higher refresh rate were not as good as they were at 144Hz (6.0ms). That means it'll likely be better to stick to 144Hz rather than overclock for gaming, but limiting one of the few features Asus has over its Acer competitor. The Asus PG279Q is definitely a contender for the new best gaming monitor, but the two displays are clearly so similar, you can't really go wrong with either one. Source http://www.pcgamer.com/
  19. The Star Wars Battlefront beta that begins next week includes a taste of the sci-fi shooter's Survival Mission mode. This will not be playable offline in the beta, EA has now confirmed. For the full game, however, you'll be able to play these missions without an Internet connection, as was announced previously. "Offline gameplay will not be available within the beta," Battlefront community manager Mat Everett wrote on Reddit. "For the beta, an Internet connection is required to play Missions." The Survival Mission in Battlefront's beta is set on Tatooine. You can play it either by yourself or with a friend through online co-op or local split-screen. The goal is to fend off waves of Imperial forces. Advancing enemies include AT-STs, TIE fighters, "elite" Stormtroopers, and other enemies. Everett did not explain why Survival Missions in the beta cannot be played offline. The Battlefront beta, which will be open to everyone on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC, also includes the 40-player Walker Assault and Drop Zone modes. In addition, beta players can check out the Battlefront companion experience through its website to earn items for the main game. Fans don't have to wait much longer to check out the Battlefront beta, as it begins on October 8 and will run through October 12. The beta file size is 7 GB on PS4/Xbox One, while the PC edition weighs in at 11 GB. PC players can pre-load the beta starting on October 7. Battlefront launches on November 17, about a month before Disney's Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens hits theaters in December. EA is also releasing tie-in DLC for Battlefront based on the movie. Xbox One owners with an EA Access membership will get to play Battlefront first, as it will be available through the subscription program a full five days early Source .http://www.gamespot.com/
  20. Camel 101 have announced Syndrome, a brand new horror game that they are making that they hope will channel classic survival horror games that have all but died out in the market in recent years. Syndrome has a typical premise – waking up on a spaceship and discovering that things have gone horribly wrong – but it is promising a return to the kind of psychological horror that used to define the genre in the first place. In Syndrome, you can’t (and shouldn’t) always take your enemy head on in combat- a lot of the times, running and hiding effectively are the best course of action available to you. In Syndrome, everything is scarce, so make sure you make what you get really count- conserve your resources, and save them for a rainy day. Syndrome will be out in the second quarter of 2016 on PS4, Xbox One, PC, Mac, and Linux. Source http://gamingbolt.com/
  21. While AMD is still struggling with its desktop graphics marketshare, they're still fighting the good fight against Nvidia and Intel. AMD makes the GPUs for all three current generation game consoles, and today they announced a new range of discrete graphics for embedded systems. They range from power efficient, to high performance, up to ultra-high performance, and they have Multi-Chip Module (MCM), Mobile PCIe Module (MXM), and PCIe options. The ultra-high performance E8950MXM is built for 4K applications with support for 4K decode, 4K encode, and up to six 4K displays. AMD says that this one is “ideal for high-end casino and arcade gaming machines, medical imaging devices and military/aerospace applications.” It’s got 32 Compute Units, with 3 TFLOPS peak single precision, and 8GB GDDR5 memory, while using below 95W thermal design power. It’s also a smaller form factor than standard commercial GPUs, specifically designed for systems with small space requirements. The mid-range E8870MXM and E8870PCIe options provide a balance of power and performance, with 12 Compute Units, 1.5 TFLOPS peak single precision, and 4GB GDDR5 memory. They operate under 75W TDP, and also have six output capabilities. The E6465MCM, the E6465MXM, and the E6465PCIe are the power-efficient options, operating at under 20W TDP. They have just the two Computer Units, with 192 GFLOPS peak single precision, 2GB GDDR5 memory, and have support for up to four display outputs. These exact GPUs won't be showing up in your desktop or laptop, but it'll be interesting to see how the E8950MXM stacks up against AMD's next high-end gaming laptop GPUs. 22. A release date for Darksiders II "Deathinitive" Edition, a remastered version of the 2012 action-adventure game for Xbox One and PlayStation 4, has not been officially announced by publisher Nordic Games. However, major United States retailers agree that the title will launch on October 27. That's the date listed on the Deathinitive Edition product pages on Amazon, GameStop, Best Buy, and Walmart. We spoke with a representative for Nordic Games about the game's release date, but they were not able to confirm the date right away. We'll update this post if we hear something definitive. The new version of Darksiders II is in development at Gunfire Games, which is staffed "almost entirely" by people who worked on the original Darksiders at developer Vigil Games. It runs at 1080p on both Xbox One and PS4. "This isn't a simple port," the developer said on its website. "We've put a lot of time to improve both the visuals and gameplay to make it on par with current releases. It's been fun adding more polish to a game that is near and dear to our hearts." For more, check out these comparison images that show much the game has improved since we last saw it in 2012. If the October 27 release date is genuine, it means the game will ship on the same day as Halo 5. Looking ahead, Nordic Games--which acquired the Darksiders franchise from THQ when the company went bankrupt--has said it has plans for a third game in the series. Source http://www.gamespot.com/
  23. ArenaNet has released the launch trailer for Guild Wars 2's first expansion, Heart of Thorns, which launches in just under a month on October 23. Check out the video below, which appears to use in-game assets instead of a more Blizzard-style CG approach. Whatever the case, people are loving it. As previously announced, Heart of Thorns adds a new Maguuma Jungle zone, an expanded progression system, more abilities (such as hang-gliding), a new Revenant profession, guild halls, and a new PvP Stronghold mode, among other things The base Guild Wars 2 game recently became free, but Heart of Thorns is a paid expansion available by itself or through various bundles. Pre-purchasing any version of Heart of Thorns grants you guaranteed access to all beta weekend events leading up to release. Source http://www.gamespot.com/
  24. Naughty Dog has shed more light on its decision to delay Uncharted 4: A Thief's End from fall 2015 to March 2016. Co-director Neil Druckmann says in a new interview the decision to push the PlayStation 4 game out a few months was not an easy one, but was required to make sure the team nailed the ending. "It was a very hard decision," Druckmann said in the latest issue of OPM (via GamesRadar). Uncharted 4 is the final game in the series to star Nathan Drake, and Druckmann teases that the studio has something special in mind for the very last scene. Getting this right took more time than previously anticipated. "Even when I'm describing the ending, it's a pretty... Well, I guess this is a little bit of a spoil... Nah, I'm not going to say it! But there is something that happens that requires quite a bit of work for what we want it to do," Druckmann said. "And again, we would have had to reduce that scope and reduce that ambition to meet that [original] deadline." Druckmann said he knew the decision to move the game back would frustrate some fans, but it was ultimately decided that a delay was in the best interest of the overall experience. "It was going to disappoint [fans] to push this thing back," he said. "But this is the last chapter for Nathan Drake, so let's give ourselves as much time as possible and go all-out for this series." Uncharted 4 launches on March 18 exclusively for PS4. You won't have to wait that long to play an Uncharted game on PS4, however, as The Nathan Drake Collection debuts in early October. This bundle includes remastered versions of the franchise's three PlayStation 3 games and also comes with access to the Uncharted 4 multiplayer beta, which starts in December. 25. Visceral Games’ Battlefield: Hardline will be the next major title to land up in the EA Access Vault when October rolls around. This is according to an image that surfaced on Reddit from a user who received the notification on EA Access. While it’s expected that subscribers will still need to purchase DLC separately, especially since all the packs haven’t been released yet, they’ll still get the single-player and multiplayer modes in the base game. EA Access’s Vault features a collection of high profile titles like Dragon Age: Inquisition, Titanfall and Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare which players can enjoy for indefinite amounts of time if they pay $5 per month or $30 per year. It also offers discounts on digital content and provides early access trials of upcoming games. Not a bad deal overall, though it’s currently exclusive to Xbox One. Source http://gamingbolt.com/
