Just got a new 28" 4K Monitor to replace the 32" TV I was using. Native resolution for the monitor is 3480x2160 which I doubt I'd use for ET or put in my CFG for custom width and height.

If I leave it set at 1920x1080, or switch to the Monitor's native resolution, ET is blown off the screen, so what do I need to set my CFG at?

What OS do you use? Win10 at least for me used a bad scaling for ET.

See above, win 10

Taking this to hardware support

Is windows scaling the size of your display? Check by right clicking the desktop and going to display settings, it should be set to 100%.

Try going to compatibility tab in the properties for ET. Go to "Change High DPI settings" and check "Override high DPI scaling behavior" with scaling performed by Application.

This is just based off of the top of my head, since I don't have time to experiment with it atm, but I know that's where to start. Had to do that on my Surface Pro.

I set scaling to 150% which lets et fit if I set my res to 1920 x 1080 in my cfg

check the r_displayrefresh command

set to 60

and vid_restart

Already been set that way. I think I got it all setup anyway.

Windows scaling at 150%

ET CFG Custom Width x Height 1920 x 1080

Switched to Large Icons on Task Bar.

Zoom Web pages to 150%

All is good except Sys tray and browser tool bars and Windows Start Menu Tiles are still tiny but I can deal with those.

After work I'll play around with what @Xernicus suggested and see if that makes things even better

my opinion is that to play at high resolutions, it also takes a nice monitor that allows you at least 144 hz refresh, otherwise we lose sight

useless to play

3480x2160 or
1920x1080

if then the yuoi fps are low and unstable, and you must also keep the displayrefresh at 60

this game at the Quake3 engine,

at the time it was played at most 1280x1024 with fps at 125 and displayrefrsh at 120

and with this command

cl_125hz 1

that now no longer exists

do me a favor just once

1024 x 768

put the maximum of the hz, and maxFPS to 125

then reduce the fov

cg_fov 130

try to see how it turns, and put all the details to the maximum
in the Nvdia control panel

antisotropic filter at most
and antialians at most

I get 166 FPS perfectly steady at the current settings, no lag, steady 40 ping on Jay 1 so no need to change them

Scaling problem with win10, switch to win8.1, problem solved. And you can set reso whatever you wish in ET.
