why do you have to warn somebody

i was on the other day and MARS was messing with mortar nadeing me and pushing teammates to death boki warned him time after time then had to kick him latter he got back on and sonofdoc had to warn him for doing the same stuff //// my issue is why does somebody like that have to be warned so many times if he is a regular player he knows the rules but just ignore them

A warning is just that, a warning. We give people chances to change before moving to the next punishment.

After 3 warns; admins are allowed to !kick a player. It's why when you warn, take care to not withdraw previous wars

You are totally right here.

That being said, admins are not here to mute / kick / ban. We are just like you, we want to enjoy our little game without having to be the cop and the judge.  It's never pleasant to use commands on someone ... I mean we are just here to enjoy a good game

So the "warn" system is the soft way to make people understand they are doing something wrong.  Unfortunately, some players are either stubborn or really dumb.

 

To answer your question : We usually start using commands like "!kick" after 3 warns in a row. ( You can check it here).

 

All that blabla to say, we understand your frustration but we always try to give people chances to stop behaving like dummies.

 

Also, sometimes we are focused on our game and so we are slow to react / answer when that happens just send a PM to an Admin and explain what's going on.

Thing is, in some cases you feel warning is not really necessary. We feel it's not an honest mistake the player is making and they will not stop after the warning. Yay! Then we just warn in cases where we feel it's necessary? No.

We do not trust our estimation on the necessity of a warning. Compare it with death penalty or torture: some people deserve it, but we don't use it on anyone because we do not trust our own judgement (danger for slippery slopes).

I think happykillmore means that ,why the Always again and again !warn before eventually a kick. After the kick they connect again and start trolling just like before.

I understand the 2nd  chances for players offcourse,but in this point its about regulars that mess up a map by trolling and taking away the fun for other players. So why after they have been kicked the 1st time after several warns, why does the whole !warn 3x has to be done again before kicking the trolls. In the mean time they already messed up the map and annoyed other players. just to make clear, its about regulars that know the rules.Not talking about new people that sure need a 2nd chance. So why not an instant !kick if they mess up the rules for the 2nd time in a map/day etc.I think that works better then start warning over and over again.

Im afraid that other players will leave a server if 1 idiot can mess around to long. Like Dovaah said,everybody is here to have fun and play the game ,but i personally think that the fun is ruined very fast if 1 troll can fool around constantly. This isnt only about trolls,but also for the players that stack and switch after !shuffle. Gameplay can be messed very fast and i think they get away with it to long. Im a player that plays by the F|A rules and respect them. Dont agree with them all,but thats my problem  . Im sure not everybody agrees with this ,but thats what a forum is for.Just giving my honest opinion here about the situation.

Warn is not necessary for repeated offense (although of course, if it has been too long, new warnings are in order) when the player has been warned before. On jaymod and silent mod we have helpful systems to see whether a player has been warned before. On nq, the only way to know whether a player has been warned before is by using our private forums, to which you do not have access until you apply

 

Others correct me if I'm wrong, but I think this way of using the warn system is a common misconception. Only thing we do need, is good members like you who report trouble players with screenshots so we have a record of the warnings.

I think I also have a demo of this event, must take a look. Drop a message if someone wants to view it.

nothing against you boki if  it seemed that way------ i understand the rules but he is a constant pain in the ass hes been there long enough to know the rules he just doesn't care because he knows he will be warned several times before he is kicked / i think if i did something like that i would expect to be kicked as soon as an admin warned me just once but i just didn't care and went on doing the same thing

Don't worry, I didn't understood or took it as if there was anything against me, cause you already proved yourself on jay1 to me as a "good and fun to play with" regular... just saying my point of view, which is very similar to yours, if not the same. But then again, it is our fairness in administration of servers what attracts the players again and again. Players, mostly our regulars, feel/know FA admins will try to be fair to them as it gets, as we try to make them feel welcome and homesick
