Here in the UK they are considered douche vehicles :P May as well get a superior Mitsubishi Evo

(no idea how it compares in reality, I just know the impreza and the evo were rivals and all suburus are the same to me :P)

2015 Hyundai sonata might be a better buy IMO

My friend uses 2014.. Complete POS. I would rather stick with my Lexus.

Well I am looking for AWD in sedan segment since i am going to put 20-25K miles in a year.  Well in last month itself I drove almost 5K miles. Going to miss my heated steering wheels but Lexus is getting old and I got to change it. Well kinda bored using it.

Well not looking at small or sports sedan :)

Well it's similar here too... Outdoor price would be around 29K.

My wife and I are seriously considering a '15 Subaru Crosstrek XV.  We brought one home from the dealer last weekend and really liked it.  We've heard nothing but good stuff about Subaru's in general but didn't like the styling of the Forester.  My wife currently drives a 2010 BMW 328.  She likes it (and I think we"ll keep it and trade my car) but her commute is about to increase and she thinks a Subaru will be better for interstate driving and foul weather.

Safety features are good and gas mileage is better than the bemeer.   Even loaded, It's still missing some of the bells and whistles of the BMW but for a safe commuter and an around town car - nothing else we've looked at is better.

Safety was one of the reason and there eyesight rocks!! I have been seriously considering there premium trim with eyesight. My only grudge is noisy ride. After driving Buick, Lexus and Accura over the years I really hate noisy rides. Here is eyesight demo:

It's piece of mind while driving in tri state areas. Good damm lame traffic. Guy drives at speed of 50 and james traffic and people here just keep honking... well at least in NJ area. Even at red signal they f***ing honk.

My car would be completely over used in 4 years.. so i moved from limited edition to premium edition and thinking to do seat and speaker upgrades. Will miss push button start.... Well I am adding remote start but gonna miss push button start, especially easy door locks and unlocks.

PS Don't buy outback. At 80 speed that freaking hatchback shakes.... Seriously.

I have always liked Subaru vehicles and if your looking for the all wheel drive aspect, in my opinion you can't get much better than the symmetrical all wheel drive in a Subaru.

I was given an old '99 subaru outback by my brother, which he bought for the all wheel drive. That thing was ugly, (stationwagons aren't pretty, imo) but it definitely did well on the snow and that vehicle never really got stuck. It was upsetting when it crapped out on me. I like that the car drives itself, but what if one day it just goes outta whack and hits the car in front of you? And plus I'm sure if anything ever went wrong with the computer/system operating it - you'd have a hefty price to pay to have that bad boy worked on.

ok, the wife and i considered the Subaru crosstrek when we were looking for a new vehicle.  Great Engines, BEST AWD on the market BUT IMHO, they are llike VW's......after doing my research and talking to previous owners...I would lean toward everyone stating they are crap vehicles.....not Mechanically......just everything else seems to fall apart or was the cheapest materials possible (like the seats man.....my 62 Mini seats are more comfortable and they are rubber band straps for seat stuffing support.

We ended up going with the FoRd Edge.  i was apprehensive at first, but the AWD passed all my scrutiny and i like the center of gravity on this thing (yup....very solid feeling vehicle) and it is pleanty roomy for hauling crap (not actual crap, although i supppose  you COULD actually haul a LOT of crap in it if you fold the seats down and......) kids, people....what not..  280HP, about 20MPG when its all said and done (and dont matter if im going 20mph or 50mph, with or without A/C on, i still get about 20MPG).  I Have always liked Ford products..I have had two Smaller Trucks (The Ford Ranger) and was quite happy with each...and abused the shite out of them before they gave up the ghost.

sooooo the post was out there in NOvember...what did you end up getting????

I was contesting with Ford Edge but the taken the fact that Ford vehicles aren't good for more then 150K miles.. I passed on it.

I ended up buying Subaru Legacy. I like the ride.

DD, look at the BMW X5 with the 3.5 Diesel. I got one and love it, has all the bells and whistles and gets 35 MPG.  Yeah, it costs a bit but it is AWD, good fuel mileage, and has a twin turbo in case you are in Europe on the autobahn and want to go about 140 MPH (governor kicks in at 140 for US specs, no governor on European specs).  here is the site for building your own  http://www.bmwusa.com/standard/content/Vehicles/2015/X5/xDrive35d/default.aspx?from=/Standard/Content/Vehicles/2015/X/X5xDrive35dRD.aspx&return=/Standard/Content/Vehicles/2015/X/X5xDrive35dRD.aspx
