Posted October 25, 2014 Posted October 25, 2014 Its not a good idea for admins to log onto the server and then go afk for hours on end--it appears there is admin presence until someone tries to contact the admin in spec and there is no response. Im not talking about a few minutes but hours, lol. Some suspected botters on beg server today and admin in spec all day but afk, despite a lot of the players pming him (including me). Where are your demos and finger details under suspected player section? What you can do is get finger details of suspected player, record a demo, and stop announcing suspected players on main chat as much as possible. You can advise other players to do the same, accusing someone without proof would not help. An admin that does not respond to any is an afk admin for whatever reason. Shogun! Posted October 25, 2014 Author Posted October 25, 2014 How are new players in the servers supposed to know about your xfire account? Is an xfire account a requirement to play on the servers? If so, it should be a server message as well. Just because the admins have xfire, doesn't mean all the players do, or even know about it. If you want to rely on xfire to be notified of trouble on the server, maybe put it on a server message to players in game know where to go if the admin in spec isn't really there. Should they really be required to exit the game to try to track someone down when they see an admin is already there in spec? This isn't mean to be a criticism but just a suggestion based on an observation. Being afk itself isn't the issue, people are afk all the time for various reasons, its just that when its for half the day or longer on a regular basis as part of some "strategy" to make people "think" someone is there, seems to be counter productive. Whether I personally have put up a suspected cheating vid or not isn't really the point. Again, not trying to stir up trouble, just making a suggestion. Walter Quote

If an admin is AFK and you don't know about xfire simply connect to another FA server and /pm F|A. You would treat the situation no differently than if the admin was not connected to the server at all. There are alternative means to contact admins and it falls on the shoulders of clan members and regular players to do this when there is an issue. The protocol for reporting cheaters is to post a demo. Without evidence the case against a player isn't very convincing. I believe there is a banner for this on every FA server. I simply don't understand how one AFK admin created a problem with a magnitude great enough to warrant this threads creation. I have never experienced an admin being more than 30 seconds out of reach. Regards, xenozbad Quote

I had my level reduced on the servers, not sure why Im still showing trial on the forum--I posted the request in the members forum as well.
