Cheapest prices I know of to make a pizza:
$2 for flour, 1.50 for yeast, 1.78 for oil, 1.00 for salt, 2.50 for pizza sauce, 2.00 for mozz cheese. So that is about 11.00 right there.

Something tells me you wanted recipes not receipts though I just couldn't pass up the opportunity to take advantage of a typo like that.

  • 800g white bread flour

  • 200g semolina flour

  • 1 teaspoon sea salt

  • 2 x 7 g dried yeast sachets

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 4 tablespoons olive oil

  • 650 ml lukewarm water

Best dough ever. Imo the sauce used for the pizza is just as important as a good dough.

For the dough we use:

- 4 cups regular white flour

- 4 table spoons of olive oil

- 1 tee spoon of salt

- 1 package of the 'pizza crust' yeast from Ralph's (makes the dough a bit crunchy *jumm...)

Mix all that together and let it sit in a warm and protected spot for 1 hour. (The dough will double in size because of the yeast)

After that mix the dough one more time and roll it out.

For sauce we use:

- 1 can of tomato souce

- 1 tee spoon of salt

- 1 tee spoon of pepper

- 1 piece of fresh garlic

- Some pepper or pizza seasoning (whatever spices float your boat)

For toppings we use:

- Salami

- Tomatoes

- Mushrooms

- Pepper

- Mozzarella cheese

Other tips:

Some places sell 'pizza stones', they make the dough very Italian crunchy and you can even make pizza on the BBQ.

Some places sell 'pizza seasoning' it contains everything you need to beef up your tomato sauce.

An insider trick is to put the flattened dough into the preheated oven for some minutes before you add sauce. This prevents the sauce from soaking to much.

BON APPETIT!

Agreed 100%. And I believe the quality of cheese is also equally important, as is the quality of any other ingredients someone uses.

I haven't been able to quite duplicate the pizzeria recipes that are used around here though. :(

How much pizza's can you make from that? My guess would be around 4?

Dont forget the oven to bake them in! Normal ovens go to max 250C mostly, a good pizza oven can go 350C and over. The faster they cook the better they get ;)

A friend of mine backed a cake and she thought:

The box says 120°C 20 minutes, lets do 240°C and 10 minutes...

Guess what, that didnt work out too well :)
