F/A Beginners 24/7 server idea

Hello All -

I just joined the website, many of you I've played ont he server with at some time or another.  I was thinking, for the smaller maps (and the bigger ones too) can we turn the friendly fire on?  it would really help against people who sit with a RPD or SAW or M60 and just hose down a specific place.

 

For example, I was just playing Winter Crash and had the unfortunate experience of spawning by the garage.  If I sent down the stairs, I was automatically killed by gunfire through the building.  If I ran to the right, I was killed by people camping.  Either way, it was a lose-lose situation.  Do you think this might be possible?  I love playing on your server, it's always a blast and one of the last remaining playable servers in CoD4 but the "spray n pray" is getting a  bit stupid.

Thank you very much for the suggestion, in my opinion it would make the server more realistic and is a good idea. However, if we do change this we have to look at the cons as well, including the complaining that might come up or the loss of server regulars. I appreciate the idea and im sure our high admin will take it into consideration.

abner is on 1.6 and most people doesn't have patch switcher or dual installation.

its not hard to install the  patch switcher and by far worth the effort  We always welcome new faces on 1.6, but we dont have FF one either.

Only FF server we have would be the promod server.

Like dave said on a server as populated as beginners, FF would probably be a bad idea. If you want to suggested maps for our next rotations you can do so in this section:

I like the reflect idea, although I'm an offender of killing that wall and a few others on certain maps, especially when I'm playing and doing something else at the same time.  It would definitely force nubs like me to pay more attention to the game

But think you would just get people teamkilling for no reason which is just a problem like nadeswitching. Yea it might make people pay more attention to the game and it might make a certain part of the population like it but what about the other half who play the game and camping is just part of the game, same with wall spamming and everything else.

 Just going to put in my two cents. I honestly don't think this would be a good idea, it would encourage many trolls to team kill rather than stopping people from spamming, and I think would have a negative effect on the server at the end of the day. Something I saw, that I'm not sure could be reproduced in cod, was where if you shot a teammate, you shared the damage, so if you killed a teammate, you would also die.

We are always needing people to help us repopulate other servers and getting server regulars to help would be amazing.  Maybe giving admin to server regulars who help repopulate servers would help as well.

 

Each server has it's own individual set up and rules and game types.  Everyone is unique in its own right, but lmg's will always be allowed.  I feel the frustration though Snoopee!  I hate lmg's and tubes and the "spray and pray" is ridiculous, but then again you have to look at that server. It is titled Beginners, hence tubes, ls, and "spray and pray".  If you want to have fun join our promod server, where "spray and pray" is not an option.

 

And like EMT said it might be worth your time to invest in installing the patch switcher as this allows you to access so many more servers and should you need help with that any of us can help or visit this topic:

Better yet, you should make a tutorial on how to avoid the spray and pray. I'd worship it!

 

Like Speed said we really do appreciate regulars signing up and supporting the FA community.  Suggestions are always welcome and we try our best to accommodate these suggestions. If I had it my way I would make the lmg a limited weapon, but that willl never happen.

 

And we like server regulars more because they make great additions to our FAmily, so should you decide to, joining us would be awesome and obviously have its perks.
