I use auto 100% of the time.

IMO

Balanced does NOT equal same number of players on each side.

Score should be considered.

When it's 10 v 15 and the team with 10 is winning 3000-500, which team would you think needs more help?

But then again, I'm 98% of the time better than a 1:1 KDR and using a bolt sniper rifle (better with an assault rifle).

For the love of God we need the !teams command. (Autobalance on demand)

But I always use Auto Assign unless the map is heavily biased and I want to get kills.

Always...but I'm always confused at the people who change teams at the beginning of the game...they auto assign, then decide they don't like that team, so they change...why don't they just wait and then pick a side?

I always auto-assign. Switching to the winning team is dishonorable, imo. Switching to the losing one is OK, depends on the reason for it.

Always auto :)

On rare occasions when I leave a team to spectate, I'm not sure how to address auto-assign then...ie: while spectating, a new player (or two) might take my spot on the team, then if I auto, it will switch me to the other team. I'll often just continue to spectate just so I don't throw off the team balance or be accused of team-switching.

I wonder how the auto-balance handles that... would it recognize that I was originally on that team, or will it switch the latest player back to the other side.

I auto except for creek, I would rather spectate the round then be start SAS with people who don't know how to push to switch the spawns. That is my only exeception.

I always use Auto, but most of the time I am the first in the new game so it isn't really helping. But I do switch teams when they are unbalanced and autobalance is taking to long.

WOOOH! 200 posts :D

100% of the time, but....

(and i know i am still a COD newb)

I am not sure that is the best way to go. From what I have seen in my few weeks of playing COD (ET player at heart and proud of it) teams are very often extremely unbalanced. As some of you have said the number of players really does not matter that much.

As I get to play more I will probably start joining the weakest team manually. As for now I don't know the skill level of the players, and to be honest it really doesn't matter what team i am on - I am not much help anyway.

Still feeling my way around the whole COD thing so don't be shy to give me hints about any and everything :)

^^ In those cases that it is really unbalanced, you can also switch to the weaker team later (if you're good enough to make a positive difference). However to avoid switching back with the help of auto team balance, you might ask a less experienced player to switch places with you first.

"We" don't have a !put, but asking works often good enough. Of the good players 1 out of 2 doesn't mind being on the lesser team, it's better practice :P

Yeah, just stick with auto-assign for the most part, just makes more sense. Also, remember that the game is often not nearly as spammy as ET, so you need to take your time and move slowly, clear the area around you before sprinting, and never sprint when you don't know what's around the corner. Generally, you clear a specific area out, and rather than sticking to the same spot, pick 3 or 4 spots you move back and forth between, picking off people as you go. If you do this, you are less vulnerable and more likely to see the enemy first.

Auto assign every time. If i started playing and went to spec, when I want to play again I still press auto assign. But if there's too many good players on my team. I try to join the other team, so I get killed too..

P.S. I'm disappointed to see that there are some trials and members who don't do anything if the teams are stacked or someone keeps on switching teams. Yesterday I think I went to beginners to check on our server and I saw 2 guys who keeps on switching teams. The team had a lot of good players in it, one Trial Member and all of them were level 55. It's sad that this trial member didn't even try to warn the stackers nor change to other team to balance the game. :/

Well, that could have been me. I don't always notice the White Skulls scrolling up the screen in the lower left corner. That's why I asked in an earlier thread how the admins notice it so consistently and quickly. I got my answer. When I notice it, I do something about it.

I'm with Ender on this.  The heat of the game keeps me from noticing the white skills and unless there is a call out about it I may never know.  Yesterday while playing I had no idea teams were off in Abner's until someone spec'ing said something.  When I looked I was on a team with one other person (2 total) playing against six.  It wasn't due to team stacking, but people leaving.  Once it was mentioned a couple of people from the other team came to ours and evened things out.

I find a lot of times when I'm the only FA on and we have rule breakers that will not listen to the binds explaining the rules or the call outs, I have to stop playing and go into spec mode to start the warns.  If it is just one person then I can stay in game to issue the warns, but it really is frustrating when the people will not listen and keep breaking the rules.  All I can do is warn them out if they don't stop and if they come back then I have to get a higher level admin to come in and take care of business. Luckily I've only had to do this once because most listen and change their ways or leave on their on.

Speaking of warns and my status as trial member..... Well, first of all, I did indeed read the links to rules/expectations etc that were provided upon learning that my app was approved. However, I read nothing in that info about what exactly happens when I warn someone 3x. Nor did I read any guidance on what actions I can take, can't take, when to call an admin etc.

I have warned people 3 x for hacking. What does this do? Are they banned forever? Banned for a period of time?  Is there something else I should be doing?
