Auto Assign

Well I tried to bump an old thread back to life, but on the advice of Corey I will make this new one

 

  How many of you actually use this feature? I always use this at the start of every map, I figure it is the easiest way of keeping teams as even as possible, though if I start in the middle of a match and the teams are even, I will choose the side I like to play the most.  Even with the Auto Balance feature there is a lot of team switching (and not even some of F|A is immune to this ). Sure would be nice to see a !putteam feature or something similar because even after Auto Balance kicks in people continue to switch teams..

I always use auto assign and this is my biggest pet peeve. I constantly warn people to even teams. My theory is select auto assign and go where auto balance puts you. Hardly anyone ever listens though.

I prefer silent rage quitting before not using auto assign, so pretty much always.

I use auto on all but one map.  On one map, the run to get to the front where the fighting is, is too long for me.  I get winded

very easily.

I usually dont auto assign, I wait to see which team isnt stacked to hell. By stacking I do not mean numbers either...

on some servers it is possible to use autoassing only or !put spec to put players (like stackers) to spectator, but these servers are not ranked anymore. thats the main reason we dont use this on our servers.

 

 

use auto assign (even if your so loved friend will play in the other team) or try to balance if possible.

I always use auto-assign, it keeps teams balanced - I'm there for a good time, I don't care what team I'm on. What I hate is when people who come in and say stuff like " NO, I HATE opfor, they suck!" and refuse to play anything but marines, that's what causes 8 on 4 team imbalances.

i would say 95% auto assign but if i see other team dominating over other and winning team has 1-2 less i join losing team.

Only use auto-assign; that's imho the only way to get a chance at fair and balanced teams. 

 

It does annoy me from time to time. When selecting auto-select, you'll probably be put in the team with the least amount of players. In my experience, I wind up in OPFOR for about 85% of the games. In almost every map, about 70% of the players stacks in Marine, while the others (mostly auto-select users I guess) wind up in OPFOR.

 

It would be nice to play some more on the marine side. But until there are no uneven teams anymore at the start of the map, I will continue using auto-select.
