I am trying to find the right in game setting.. What does everyone have theirs set at or is it all just a matter of preference?

And I know this is a stupid question Haha, but what is FOV and how can it affect my game experience?

Thanks! :D

The mouse sensitivity is different for everyone. My setting is 8.25. High for the majority of players but perfect for me.

FOV = Field Of View "Default : 90"

I can't help you because I playin' with "90". Good for Aim. If you up to 105.. this is better to see what happens around you.

Ahhh, field of view... I have my mouse at 1.7 something haha.. IT was up much higher, but I have been changing the settings to try to smooth it out.. Thanks for the response.. I will tweak with The FOV also, and try higher settings on the sensitivity.. I really appreciate it! :D

Im playing with a sensitivity of 2.06 :) and a fov 100

Looks very low but im used to it and when i put the sens higher...then i cant hit anything anymore

Personally i can keep the target better in my crosshair with a lower sense, cause when i put it higher and move the mouse

then i completly lose my aim.But its worth a try to put everything higher and youll find out whats best for you.good luck finding the

"G-spot" :eek

Thanks a million! So far I had better results at lower setting, but have only tried lower settings.. The lower the setting the smoother the aims seems...

fov

field of view, 90 is the default, in most servers 120 is the maximum allowed, but in other servers you can go higher (and maybe get seasick :P) 120 is more like a wide angle lens, so you will see more of your surroundings, it will also give you a feeling that you are moving faster (only a feeling, though)

The disadvantage is that enemies will be smaller

It has no effect on your mouse sensitivity (if you aim from point x to point y with a low fow, you will need the same movement on your desk to move from x to y with a high fov) but your brain can react differently, especially for some weapons like rifle grenades

sens

First of all, it doesn't make sense to say 'my sensitivity is x' because there are other factors (mouse dpi, os sensi, mouse drivers, etc.) so 2 players with different numbers might have the same mouse sensitivity

The only correct way to talk about sens is inches/360 or cm/360, i.e. how many cm or inches you need to move on your table to make a full 360 degrees turn.

Mouse sens changes from game to game, for example you could expect a quake player (maybe, I don't play quake :P) to use a higher sens than an ET player, and jaymod players usually play with higher sens if compared to etpro players.

But there are good players who use high sens, and good players who use low sens. It's a personal preference, and it depends (among other things) on the way you hold your mouse (palm grip, claw grip, etc.) you need to experiment, don't copy other people sensitivities.

I normally run about 3.26 for normal play but i have like 4 diff dpi settings on mouse for snipe and throwing knife and also i one dpi set very low for when i get in long shooting battles i can set it to hardly move. I use the logi performance mx.

snip

I always like when you go all technical about stuff ^^

Anyway, mouse sens I never bother to change in-game.

I do change my DPI settings a bit, but that's all

For the FOV part, mine is cranked to the max (120).

Just for the reason I get sick if the FOV is too narrow => main reason I only can play COD for a short period of time, fov is 85 there max :(

Well that makes sense to me... How do you change the FOV? Can I set it from a menu in-game or is it in a config?

http://www.funender....ouse/index.html I use this site to figure it out. You need to input 2 things: ingame sensitivity and mouse dpi.

I use 41cm/360 for example which i guess is kinda low sensitivity.

Thank you very much.. I can't wait to tweak around with it!

I think my sens is currently 0.7, and fov has been 120 for a looooong time. For me, it would be very hard to play with any other fov, because i like to see also what is going on on my sides :)
