Is this maplist definite, or can the regulars still have their addon? 'cause we've been talking about it a lot... Platonic Posted June 13, 2012 Posted June 13, 2012 I'll try to explain our (me, Julez and Ooops) conversation briefly. Let's start with saying that we didn't know you had added a mapvoting. We agreed that mapvoting wouldn't be a very good idea on noquarter2 because it would make overplayed maps be played even more (you can see this on every server with mapvoting: goldrush, saberpeak,...). Ofcourse, I suppose the decision to integrate mapvoting is a well considered one and I thrust your expertise. We agreed about the maps (in comparison to the old ones): -add warbell; -add Siwa oasis clockwork and delete normal siwa (edit: this has already been done); -add Fueldump revenge and delete normal fueldump; -add Paris Bastille -delete supply depot because it's overplayed (eventually modified version); -delete Goldrush because it's on every server (modified version?); -add resurrection; -add caen2; -add baserace. I understand that this is a lot. It would already be great to see a part of this realized. Thanks again for changing the maps. I hope this will help nq2 on getting more players and less bots Edit: I also love tramfight, but I haven't been able to discuss this one with other regulars. Quote

Ooops Posted June 15, 2012 Posted June 15, 2012 Great with the new maps! Might have had an effect already. I see new people popping in and actually staying for a while. Just played the Minas map. Got to say I really dig that map - but with mostly bots it was total pawnage I think the server is moving in the right direction for sure. Now we have more admins (both new ones, but also older ones popping by more often), we have new maps and quite a few regulars. Now the journey begins to get more people to play there. I like very much the server. I do not usually go play on other servers than the Noq2. Of course there are some maps that need to be made to them ... However, there are a few things that might better be changed, let me list it and see what you can agree with -There are 2 siwa's, means a chance to play siwa every 3 maps, please delete one of them because new people usually vote siwa because they know it...; -Minas Tirith looks like a great map, but for our server it's just too big. Most people start whining if it's voted. Well I think that's it really, the bugs are all out. Feel free to add new maps instead of those two if you'd delete them. To Minas Tirith: it actually isn't big at all, because the spawn moves very fast if you bust the gates. I would like to keep this map on the server. The only problem I saw there was that I couldn't move 4 or 5 times when I was spawned as an Axis. Did anyone have the same problem? Daredevil, you said that the server crashes with Fueldump Revenge. What about Fueldump Christmas or Desert? More it's optimized the more better sound will play and more less pk3 size would be and more sound's u can add. Once it's done let me know and we can add that on test server for testing. Cheers! Is the soundpack creator (http://fearless-assassins.com/files/file/457-awb-soundpack-creator-testversion/) not a much easier way of creating a soundpack? This way you don't have to write the scripts all by yourself... Or has it disadvantages I didn't notice? Second is if theres anywhere we can download the nq1 soundpack, we might be able to use some of them indeed... Quote
