Clan Friend SunLight Posted November 9, 2011 Clan Friend Share Posted November 9, 2011 I am not sure whether you can connect with a nonstandard et to a standard et server. Not with punkbuster on for sure, without it I don't know. But mods can also check which et version you are using, etpro for example.
sMirb
I did a short video to showcase some footage of the gameplay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d9fFV-PQ-8E It's unedited so thats how the game looks like.

TulsaGeoff
Dare, are you saying that the better graphics are a result of good video editing?
Chuckun
Dare, are you saying that the better graphics are a result of good video editing? No I think he's saying he wants to give awards to those who make good videos for FA
TulsaGeoff
Oh okay! I always see that Mirqli is the beast trick jumper that posts his videos =) Yes you do produce good and BADASS work. The flags wave and the fire has motion! Looks pretty cool. Does this mod work with all existing maps or are they completely different files? Thanks If I have understood correctly all maps must be converted somehow before it'll look as good as those original maps now. The mod is still under development and this version is very buggy and incomplete, anyway it's still going to a nice direction. You should read splash damage forums if you want to know more about it. Glyphz
So we can't use this on a PB enabled server ? o.O
Clan Friend SunLight Posted November 13, 2011 Clan Friend Share Posted November 13, 2011 So we can't use this on a PB enabled server ? o.O It's not a mod, it's a new ET, so obviously PB will check if you are using standard ET or you modified it. PB doesn't care if you modify something for better graphics or for haxing, different ET is different ET. No pb, no etpro, no tzac. And in the future they can even change it more, so it could eventually become incompatible with standard et.
Glyphz
So...who's using this now on our servers ?
Clan Friend SunLight Posted November 14, 2011 Clan Friend Share Posted November 14, 2011 I never tried it online, just /devmap or demos atm, I don't wanna get busted for using xreal if they turn pb on ^^ actually I don't know what would happen exactly, I would probably just be kicked, but since I've never been kicked by pb I don't wanna start now If I decide to try it I will do it on a proper xreal server, but the map loading time is a bit annoying for me
sMirb
You can't play on a server which doesn't support xreal if you're running xreal, I tried your servers and many others also. Although you can see the servers list through xreal (just like in normal ET), you can also connect to them and download all the needed stuff (maps etc.) like normally, but when the actual game is supposed to open it gives some error message or chashes. Anyway there is a few servers running xreal already so if you want to go and try out here's the list of servers that support xreal for now: http://gamestats.darkserver.it/etxreal/servers/ as you can see there is very few players playing and many of the maps are just original wolf ET maps which just have the new lighting, not the new textures, so if you really want to try out the new good looking maps I suggest you host a server on etmain and use referee to try the etx_maps
