Windows 8 – The Developer Preview

cb144_windows-8-start-screen.jpg

Have access to the Windows 8 Developer Preview, starting Today.. Microsoft posted the download links for Windows 8. It will be available in 32 and 64-bit configurations. There will be no ARM version available for now.

Be warned, this is not the final or finished product. It will have bugs, incompatible software. And Microsoft will not be offering any technical support for the OS.

I downloaded it with 10MB/s, installing it to my USBstick (bootable) will go with only 2.5MB/s :(

Anyway, I'll hope to get it up and running later today on my second PC :)

Apparently, it doesn't want to be installed. Critical object termination :/

Or I need to find a blanc dvd, set up my dvd burner (main pc has only blu-ray drive), etc. So I guess I'll wait a bit :P

Will add some more, but the metro shit thing on win8 crashed ^^

Tomorrow: trying to install w:et on it ^^

first impression:

Metro shit SUCKS on desktop

Metro is a great way to navigate when using touch (on tablets and stuff), but kind of annoying when using Keyboard + mouse and can't find out if pressing windows flag key is shutting down the app or just minimizing it.

!good news: there is a way to disable metro

1.open desktop app: windows flag + r

2..typ regedit

3..go to HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Curre ntVersion\ and click Explorer.

4.doubleclick on D-Word RPEnable and set value from 1 to 0
