Urine_Sample Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 It took 10 years and $252 million to built the world's most humane prison Halden Fengsel with a capacity of 252 inmate. It is spread over 75 acres (30 hectares) of gently sloping forest in southeastern Norway. Harald V, King of Norway, joined the opening celebration on April 8. Each cell has a LCD TV and a shower. The prison has its own recording studio, medical center and hundreds of paintings on the wall, that cost more than $1 million. People say that life in prison is tough. But not in this one. http://acidcow.com/pics/9445-the-worlds-most-humane-prison-is-in-norway-17-pics.html Whoever says crime doesn't pay is doing it wrong 1) go to norway 2) commit a crime that will not label you as high risk 3) ????? 4) profit Quote
Corey Posted December 29, 2010 Posted December 29, 2010 whenever i need to commit a crime ill go to norway for sure Quote
Administrators JoeDirt Posted December 29, 2010 Administrators Posted December 29, 2010 I watched a documentary about prisons in Norway, most of them have no fences, prison guards had no weapons, and prisoners didn't try to escape. Anyhow Scandinavians are a pretty weird bunch imo. Quote

Thoracic Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Interesting….apparently Norway has a return rate that is less than half the US (20% vs 50%) and incarcerates at a rate 1/10 the amount per 100k (70 vs 750) in the US; so I guess they can afford to spend a little more.? Quote
Chuckun Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 Nice looking or not, they still take away your freedom, so they genuinely look horrible in my eyes. Quote
Achiyan Posted December 30, 2010 Posted December 30, 2010 it sure beats bein in a dirty pissy cell that they have in US. commit a crime and have a free, comfortable living. i agree with Chuck but he must agree to my first sentence. Quote
