Sniper scripts aren’t allowed, although messing with m_pitch/yaw and fps isn’t frowned upon

I had asked if Rash's post qualified as a "sniper script" and was told by @daredevil that it is not considered forbidden.

Watching it in action on Jay#1 was "very interesting!" 😄 I and others were very suspicious, but fortunately you had just posted it here.  I will have to try it and see if I get the same results as what I saw.  It seemed to produce a "reduced recoil" and not a "zero recoil."

@HarryAimpotter

Nah pmove_fixed is client side.

@bLade.

There isn't a working no recoil script. You can find one on Google pretty easily. It goes thus:

// No Recoil Script – Covert Ops \\
set recoilon “+attack; wait 12; -attack; +lookdown; wait 7; -lookdown”
set recoilon1 “+attack; wait 12; -attack; +lookdown; wait 4; -lookdown”
set recoiloff “bind mouse1 +attack”
set 1 “cl_pitchspeed 140; bind mouse1 vstr recoilon; echo ^1S^7niper ^1M^7ode ^4On; vstr 3”
set 11 “bind mouse1 vstr recoilon1; echo ^7Sniper recoil reduced, for when you get level 3 Co-ops; vstr 4”
set 2 “vstr recoiloff; vstr 5; echo ^1S^7niper ^1M^7ode ^4Off”
set 3 “bind * vstr 11”
set 4 “bind * vstr 2”
set 5 “bind * vstr 1”
bind R “vstr 1”

But the problem is that the +lookdown command does not work and has probably never worked. I tried it around 2007-2008 and it was not working at that time. Before ETLegay, if you typed in the console +lookdown, you'd have an error message saying: +lookdown command is obsolete" or something like that. Now it says nothing but it does nothing.

I'm glad the config that I provided to FA admins 4 years ago or something like that if still around so members can see for themselves that it isn't a no recoil script.

Here's what you can do: download the config, go on the server and fire a shot without pulling down your mouse, the shot will go up as usual. If you try to pull down the mouse (do it a fraction of second before actually firing, it's better), you'll see your recoil go down very quickly because of the sensitivity and mpitch values in the config, nothing extraordinary, just a bit smart.

Paging @Leatherface if he wants to see for himself as well.

Just don't spread the config around, please.

Regards,

RASHOMON

If you are good sniper besides FPS set to 71  - u don't need anything. Now a days, people don't want to practice, learn the game, enemy and tactics.  Sit in spec, whoever is better, call them cheater.

Don't get me wrong cheaters do exist but 95% taken care by AC and rest 5% take demo and share with =F|A= admins or open topic for public.

PS Look at latest games i.e. BF, COD, etc. plagued with cheaters.. we play with cheater - like open blatant cheater every 2 games.... that's a fking reality to be honest.

Amen brother. Their is none and no matter how much you tell to some folks, they will not agree with you. So sometimes, what I do is, tell them, you should use too! Now here comes the dumb category: They will download something on Google, go into placebo effect and tell to others it works!

As they say, sometimes pick your battles wisely and never argue with dumb because they wouldn't understand and it would be waste of our time.

Ok, I did some research on that. Pmove_fixed can be set on either the client or the server--the client will default to the value on the server. As I tested this out in 4 different FA servers, I could not set it to 1. Its forced to 0 , so pmove_fixed does nothing in FA servers.

This is weird, I've been able to change it to 1 on 3 FA servers. Maybe nothing actually happens/changes but I don't have any error messages from the console. See this screenshot for instance.2023-01-21-115922-goldrush-gals.thumb.jpg.898961165fc452014805d568ba3347ac.jpg
