0 Administrators daredevil Posted January 6, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 6, 2019 Do you see the difference in lagometer? i.e. see your green line. It's changing. Can you please share winMTR of 100 packets with it in background when you experience lag?

Thanks mate for this topic... Are you waiting for someone to create the topic for you? Why not create the topic yourself when you notice lag and provide winMTR and lagometer screenshots. @K3rmit - When you lag - i.e. your ping increases - you will see whole server ping will increase. Someone please correct me if I am wrong. Also in game your ping is 200 while in the winMTR - i see your ping is 50-100 avg, with 100 being worst in max case. If you see your green lagometer, that's jumping high. Basically, the height of the green line will be proportional to your ping. If green jumps = your ping is jumping. I was talking with @RendeL - Will set up weekly Thursday restarts but it seems to me that their is definitely something wrong. Either client or server side. But with winMTR showing max 100 ping, it's hard to figure out. @K3rmit - Can you please run 2 winMTR One against seu1.dediserverhosting.com - when you notice lag, start the winMTR immediately. Another against snl1.dediserverhosting.com - when you notice lag - start at same time. This way it would help me to figure out things. Thanks PS Right now if i complain to data-center - they will tell me adios because winMTR shows no lag whatsoever. Thanks for bringing this to attention. 1

I don't bite Even if it's your network side issue, winMTR will say that.

The map should only add FPS lag or may be increase a ping by +/- 10 - not more then that. I did run mtr from server to your IP - Looks nice to me. I will be WFH on this Thursday/Friday - Discord me when you notice lag. I will be at office on next 2 days so if you discord me and I don't reply, i might be in meetings or busy at work. Let's figure this out.

Only on yesterday when I connect to server and Millenium falcon was going we had high pings, but there was only 5 min left so i didn´t pm you.. Can you tell me what these blue triangles on lagometer means? Does WinMTR show any differences? Yours look good. Modem/router firmware working properly, though there are some spikes. Seem infrequent enough though, as averages aren't too far deviated from best. Could be the datacenter was getting hit hard with traffic, or they did/were doing some maintenance. I have one or two guesses- but just speculation, so won't mention them as to not derail/cause confusion. Triangles on lagometer explanation (hopefully is accurate- been a long week and I'm exhausted... someone plz correct me if I'm wrong ) -Blue lines w/triangles is server side. -Green line is client side. For upper line/server side: -Downward triangles indicate interpolation- this is ok. Triangles facing up indicate extrapolation- this is not so good. This is where FPS, snaps and other network settings come into play. Basically the server sends out 20 updates per second (20 snaps). -In your SS above, your display is updating 100 times per second (100fps). In fact, you might notice that depending on your net settings, and/or the higher your FPS is, the larger the triangles. For lower line/client side: -Red is bad- means no snapshot sent to the server- which leads to extrapolation-- yellow on the upper line. However, there can also be yellow on the bottom line. This would be reverse but also bad scenario-- client didn't receive snapshot from server, or it was delayed. -ET servers update at a fixed rate, clients don't. Clients depend on networking, system performance, etc. So to account for that (using your latest ss as an example), the game client needs to smooth things out to account for those differences in updates so you don't people warping/jerking all over the place. -So in your example (you're running 100fps*, server is updating 20sps*), those triangles show your client taking 1 snapshot (snap), estimating positions of players, rockets, etc. and smoothing it out over 5fps. *fps= frames per second, sps = snapshots per second (or snaps) Edited January 11, 2019 by Xernicus +estimating 1
0 Administrators daredevil Posted January 11, 2019 Administrators Share Posted January 11, 2019 Your green line in lower lagometer graph is still higher compare to your normal - green bar height is always proportional to your ping to server. So it seems during that time - your latency increased but since their is no packet loss - your upper graph - blue is perfect.
