GUID error

One of my friend, installs wolfenstein enemy game but when he tries to enter one of the F|A maps it appears GUID error. Already tried uninstalling and installing back but it doesn't work. Any solutions?

Did he try right click on ET and play as admin yet? or something like that =P

 

I remember I had problems connecting to servers too lol, worked when I did that^

I had the same problem, it looks like when you install ET nowadays you don't get a GUID. This is what I did:

 

You'll need a GUID generator (there's plenty of them, just google it) and a blank text document (extension .txt)

 

1. Obtain a GUID from a GUID generator.

2. Create a new text document in your ET main folder.

3. Paste the GUID in the new document and rename the document to etkey

4. Remove the .txt at the end of the document's name so that it becomes etkey instead of etkey.txt

 

After doing the above I didn't get the invalid GUID message. I did /pb_myguid to make sure that ET recognized the new GUID, and it did.

They must've mass emailed that reply out. I got the exact same thing
