Windows has a video driver but it's not the best for games.

Don't update in Device Manager, Display adapters.

It would update the Windows driver.

You need driver for videocard.

Go here and use Automatically Detect and Install Your Driver.

First of all what video card do you have?  If you have an nvidia driven card,  I suggest updating to the driver from July 2015.

A lot of people had problems with the updates after that.

I am not an ET player so someone else will have to do that for you.  In COD4, we can turn off the pretty stuff and make it just

a plain screen and that makes it faster.  The nvidia program can be set to performance or high performance and that helps.
